Here are three symbols I invented, which I intend to represent three common, related concepts.

Now, my philosophy of icon design is not that people should be able to guess the meaning of an icon at first glance. For me, the primary requirement of icon design is that the meaning should never have to be explained twice. Nonetheless, I’m curious how many people who find themselves reading this can correctly guess what concepts these symbols are intended to convey. Please make up your mind before reading the comments or posting your own guess in the comments. Note: the colors of the icons are arbitrary and not relevant to their intended meaning.
