		<description>"the critical importance of sound reasoning and its role in building solid paths to improvement in every facet of society."
So nice to read that!

I was pondering my reply when I heard Valerie Plame Wilson on Charlie Rose in the background. "Get the politics out of intelligence." Now, when in uniform as a peace-keeper my heart was broken by one clear instance and that thought came crashing through into my reality. (That was '73 ... I was in SigInt ... like working backstage mounting the play we call "projection of power".)

Coincidentally the head of the CIA just recently (Again on the Charlie Rose show; I'm a fan.) said "What we need is straight talk with as many facts as we have on the table."

So I know that my 30+ years have not been mis-directed. Which, as you can imagine, is mighty heartening. Finding your thoughts here buttress that.

Have you come across Paul Monk's writing over at AusThink? Not to demean Tim van Gelder, but Monk's writings on the subject of foreign policy ... it puts your thought into substantial context.
(Not sure HTML is allowed, so forgive me if this comes out as a fart: &lt;a href="http://www.austhink.org/critical/pages/argument_mapping.html" rel="nofollow"&gt;AusThink.org - argument mapping&lt;/a&gt;

p.s. after commenting on one of your posts in the TL blog I tried to drill down to you at LinkedIn ... 3 degrees of separation there.
cheers</description>
