Obviously, I can’t answer for all creationists (especially because I am not one, although I used to be one), but clearly many people feel that the Bible and science are reconcilable— just not by taking the Bible literally. So they don’t see it as any kind of “lie of God” to think that the Genesis account does not refer to six literal days.

What is even more funny than a creationist is someone who unquestionably believes in the “Big Bang” theory because “science” has told them this is what happened. Fools do not even question how the “scientific method” has been applied to prove this theory.

If there is one thing that scientists an science-educated laypeople do, it is “question things.” I am not aware of any scientists who “unquestioningly believe.” So which “fools” are you referring to? Oh, right— anyone who doesn’t believe in your deity.

And why stick the word “science” in scare quotes? Didn’t Galileo show that objects fall at the same speed regardless of mass? Do you reject this finding? It is the product of science. So where is the line between the science you accept and the science you reject? The only science that scientists reject is badly-done science. But as a creationist, you must reject any science that conflicts with your holy book— a disingenuous distinction if there ever was one.

This is a false dichotomy. For one thing, which god do you believe in? There are quite a few gods other than Yahweh vying for worshipers out there, you know. Secondly, it is possible to sidestep the whole faith question by doing exactly what real scientists do: answering “I don’t know,” when they really don’t know.

Finally, you’re not even being clear by what you mean by “unprovable.” The Big Bang theory is very well supported by multiple lines of evidence. You’re probably one of those creationists who don’t even really know what a scientific theory is— you know, like the “theory of gravity,” or “atomic theory,” etc.
