Wow! I found RW’s books only three weeks ago. I have been studying bble prophecy for about fifteen years and i hav e always had a problem with how the traditional christian church bodies (be it lutheran, baptist pentecostal…) explain revelation. It’s like they are grasping for some kind of truth to what they cant explain and all have different views on how it plays out, and because of that they have indoctrinated several generations into a false doctrine of end time prophecies which has turned into several cults. Ron weinland i think comes closest to the truth in most of his writings. I dont think any one will know any thing for sure till the two witnesses are her and preaching. we will have to wait and see till april 18 to see if we have them or not in rw. Rw i think has been enlightened by God for some reason,weather it is do decieve us or to help us i think he is still enlightened. i am not a follower of him or any of his splinter churches since i have just discovered them. i am interested in any form of prophetic insight that will help understand prophecy. i see him as harmless anyway. is he profiting from tithes? maybe, but can any of you get a hold of any of his bank statements to prove it? if not it then it is just wish wash and you are putting yourself in the same shoes as what your saying of him. claims with no proof. is he hurting any one? sending any one to hell? and if you say he is sending people to hell themn you are apparentlyn a beleiver in the bibe and should remember that only God knows who is going to hell. name me one christian leader who leads a church that does not get tithes from the church body. are they all false because they are in it for the money caus they get money from the members. noone knows any thing for sure about who a person is on the inside and there intentions. i have not seen one thing that puts him up thee with people like Jim Jones or Charlie Manson! He might be a little misguide or reading to deep into certain things but that does not merit him being accused fleecing the flock! does any one remember jerry lee lewis’ cousin jimmy swaggert? led a lot of people to christ but slept with a prostitute later in his ministry. does that make him a false prophet. any less of a christian? al have sinned. Ron will be proven true or false soon enough.
WWatch – where in the march 1st sermon does he mention the bombs that has been edited off (I still have the original sermon.mp3 too)? On a preliminary comparison of the original and official sermons, they’ve removed the first 23 1/2 minutes of announcements (these are normally broadcast live and edited off the recorded sermons) which only leaves 2-3 minutes unaccounted for. They both end at the same point.
While it’s typical protocol to remove these announcements (nothing out of the ordinary there per se) what are all the after-the-fact listeners missing?
In the (for Church ears only) announcements, he admits things aren’t happening as pronounced as he was hoping by now, assures the congregation they can start telling people more after the 18th, and reads a “fan letter” from a 16yo. girl in Mexico, self described “gullible person”, who has now given up on future plans and is too scared to tell her parents.
And Ron is encouraging this.

He had a good extensive view on what he believes is going on. So i thought i would bring to his attention that if we were given the evidence that we all want, would you even change your mind?
Wether Weinland has edited some of his March 1st sermon is really irrelevant as he has said on radio Interviews that America gets hit from April onwards..There is no room for error as some of you seem to think..In one of his radio interviews(i listened to em all) the interviewer asked him if he would come back soon after April if he is proven false and he said yes he would and that he would be a false prophet..He also says that the great Trib finishes around Nov. 2011,and we all know he says it lasts for 3 and half years..So…3 and half yrs before that is April 2008!…The Great Trib is what it states,and that is CHAOS!..So if S#it doesnt hit the fan in April for 3 and half years then Ron is False… in HIS OWN WORDS…..

I can’t speak for everyone of course, but I WAS born into the very religion Ron splintered from.
He went to our “religious college”…he is cut from the same cloth the founder HWA.
HWA had 2 limo’s, at least 1 jet, wore Armani suits and had $30,000 salt & pepper shakers. This is NOT made up. It was part of his “estate sale”… It’s totally fine if people decide to send money in on their own.
What YOU don’t know is HWA and RW (and the REST of the splinters) attach tithing to Salvation…. “If you don’t tithe, you are NOT part of the body of Christ”…. Obviously if you are wanting salvation YOU TITHE!
While HWA jetted around the world having lunch with Sadat and other world leaders, we lay people broke our backs working 2 jobs to pay tithes…and (too long of a story to address here) there is a 2nd tithe (making total tithe 20%) And MORE about money we don’t want to get into.
I don’t know if Jimmy Swagart, Jim Baker or the rest made giving or tithing a command attached to salvation….I believe they were more like many of today’s televangelists….”Give to US and God will give you prosperity”…
Read and study all the RW literature you want….But PLEASE don’t defend something you know nothing about.

Paul – absolutely. The problem is he’s getting dodgey on what s#it hitting the fan is going to smell like.
Magisto asks if we’ll believe if bombs hit in April – my answer is absolutely. The problem is he’s more implying that the pope will be possessed in April and bombs will be sometime THEREAFTER.
The point of the obsession with sound file editing is that we’re trying to hedge him in with what he’s said, so we don’t want him pulling the fine details to construe what does happen as something he said would happen.
To Banncam – thanks for the reply. All I wanted was how they’d take it, but the history was very interesting. I find it interesting Ron has used the exact logic you mentioned (the Laws were known and assumed by even the Gentiles) but DIDN’T quote Acts 15 so people would read that in their own bibles.
To use Armstrong’s words, “don’t trust me, trust your bibles!”
I dont see any hedging though Renton as The Tribulation lasts for 3 and half years..He has already said when the End of the Tribulation is..Fall 2011…The Great Tribulation is basically Hell on Earth for 3 half yrs so if “hell” doesnt start in April then there is no beginning of Tribulation therefore Ron is False..Yes he states the Pope will be influenced in America in April..But has he realised he has set a deadline for Sep/Oct 2011…we are now entering the 3 and half yrs..The Bombs cant go off in June otherwise the timeline would be to late..He has no more room to move…Maybe he should have watched what he said during the Radio interviews to give himself more lee-way…OR maybe he really believes…Either way he,s backed into a corner…
I am listening to the Part 3 of Mystery of God, services recorded live by RW….there is a musical recording playing and voices singing….It is a strong vocal performance. I guess it is a recording being played at church for the members to enjoy while they find their seats because RW has said, “church will begin in 3 minutes” then he said, “services will begin in 1 minute”…the music is still playing.
The songs brought back WONDERFUL memories of my former life….just in case you guys don’t know, for the most part WCG (and splinters) do not listen to religious, gospel, Christian songs/music outside their own organization. The songs we grew up singing were written by HWA’s brother Dwight Armstrong. There were a few songs like “Onward Christian Soldiers” in the hymnal as well as “America the Beautiful”
Although I am VERY blessed and thankful to be released from the grip WCG had on me, there are fond memories as well.
I really don’t have anyone from my youth or twenties I have in my life anymore because I’ve abandoned them…
I DO have a strange and “strained” relationship with my siblings, parents and in-laws.

Final update: For the members here (and blasting me on the blog) who keep telling me “Ron never said nukes!!!” Well guess what. The church didn’t bother editing THAT out of the online version of the sermon.
So you’re walking around going “Ron never said nukes!” And yet the quote I posted here is still in the sermon on the CoG-PKG site (only at a different time-stamp).
So explain to me please how “Ron never said nukes”?
Interesting to note he also trimmed the part at the end about him apologizing for his food poisoning and laryngitis.
Also, the information in the announcements is very important, since it gives information like names of the men who are “elders” in the church, locations of meetings, what the various meetings will be for, and so on and so forth.
Weinland also makes a point of peppering his announcements with “time is very short and he talks about how he has appointed elders for certain areas because soon contact will be cut off between Europe and the US, &c., all of which gets cut out of the sermons that go up on the site after the fact.
Yeah, I heard those announcements.
I was wondering WHY God would allow his prophet/witness to get laryngitis!

I for one would have to find a new planet to inhabit if RW’s evidence is definitive to the letter. If I survive the 1st 4 trumpets that is. If in change my mind you mean, would I acknowledge RW is who he says he is, yes. But I would have to write my own book defining the conditions.
Unfortunatley or fortunately depending on your perspective I live near the Washington, DC area. So isn’t DC supposed to be one of the 1st area’s affected? Would it be considered suicide if I hung out in DC next April 17 or 18? Honestly, if even half of what RW wrote comes to pass, would you really want to experience that? Whats the payoff, the world according to RW, no thanks.

As I’ve lamented, he’s implied the living hell out of it, but you can’t pin him down on a single falsifiable prediction, UNTIL a new president is inaugurated.

The seven thunders were supposed to be so pronounced before the seventh seal was opened that no one would be able to deny them. Also, the world was supposed to be shocked and in horror when the seventh seal was opened (both comments taken from the book).
Neither of these have come to pass, and the seventh seal has been “open” for quite a while now. That “pinned down” enough for people?

WWatch – yes, we’ve well established the infamous p23 quote has been disproved, and obviously no, it’s not enough for people. (Sorta my point in the last post).
He’s said in interviews (like the last one I think) that the 7th Seal will opened in April as well, so one could argue he just meant the 1st trumpet on p 23 of 2008.

That’s why I’m here. Freedom of Thought, Freedom of Speech and Freedom of (and from) Religion are all dear to me. The best way to counter hateful, intolerant, or ignorant speech is with more speech of another kind: calm, considered, and rational. And as a last resort for the truly recalcitrant: shaming and ridicule.
I thought I would share a brief e-mail inquiry I just had, along with my response. Nothing long-time readers of this hoary thread haven’t seen, but I think it bears repeating:
I don’t have any particular reason to think so. Weinland’s teachings are closely derived from those of Herbert W. Armstrong, in whose Worldwide Church of God I grew up. While out of the mainstream, Armstrong’s teachings never cultivated a suicide, paramilitary, or survivalist culture like that seen with Jim Jones, David Koresh, or Marshall Applewhite. Weinland’s chief distinction from Herbert Armstrong is in the firmness of the dates of his end-time predictions. I think the most likely outcome is simply a disillusionment and disbandment of his followers when his predictions fail to materialize.
Combine the fact that Weinland believes (if he truly believes what he’s selling) that he’s going to die in 3.5 years, and the following factors:
- Two members of Weinland’s congregation requested there be no funerals when they died.
- Weinland believes that he will die (and be resurrected) in three-and-a-half years: “During that period of time, we[the two witnesses] will, together, completely fulfill all that God has given us to witness to this whole earth. Then, at the end, we will die in the streets of Jerusalem; and finally, exactly three and one-half days later, we will be resurrected.” [pp. 16, 2008: God's Final Witness]
- “You may die a week from now you may die a month from now but if you’re in the 144,000, you may die three and a half days before the end, but if you are sealed, then you are going to be in that [the first] resurrection. That’s what this is all about.” (From sermon 45 Days to the Seventh Seal)
-”It is important that everyone, primarily elders, do exactly what is given to them, no more, no less.” [quote beginning 14:08:00 "The Mystery of God Part 3" unedited]
-”I look forward to this time we’re getting ready to go through because until people are humbled they won’t quite understand what is true because they won’t reject what they believe. And so people have to be brought down, and it’s a horrible thing what mankind has to go through to be humbled.” [1:03:43-1:04:02 "The Mystery of God Part 3"unedited]
- The nuclear weapons quote cited above from the same sermon.
- “The remaining few, who were yet to be added to this total count of 144,000, and are alive at this end-time, will be sealed (completed their training) by the time this last seal is opened.” [pp. 115, 2008: God's Final Witness]
In Worldwide, we were instructed that this “final training” was to take place over three-and-a-half years, in the “place of safety” (long assumed to be the ruined city of Petra, in Jordan). Weinland is apparently saying that the remaining few have now completed their training. Worldwiders were instructed that a rapture-type event would take place, after the final training had taken place.
Weinland has allegedly said somewhere in a radio interview (I don’t know which one as I haven’t listened to them all), that the church is not making any plans to flee.
What, one then wonders, do they plan do when those “port cities” are taken out by the nukes? Or when the first trumpet sounds:
- “It should also be noted, that in the first trumpet there is fire mingled with blood. Blood means there will be much death when this event occurs. Most of it will be the death of animals and birds, but also a large number of people will die—into the tens of thousands.” [pp117-118, 2008: God's Final Witness]
-“Nearly two-thirds of their populations will die within months of the start of great physical tribulation on the earth. The last third will experience a sifting process in the remaining time of tribulation.” [pp. 51 "The Prophesied End Time"]
-”God specifically declares that this Asiatic power alone will destroy a third of all mankind—over one billion people.” [pp. 226, "The Prophesied End Time]
- “Those that die coming up Father, that it’s just a break in time, and in your mercy you will reveal to them a great, wonderful period ahead of them in the Great White Throne Judgement and that they will have the very same opportunity that you have given to millions now to know you.” [From the closing prayer after Wayne Matthews' March 8 sermon, "Who is the Church of God PKG?"]
If those quotes do not suggest a culture of death, I don’t know what does.

To me, they do not suggest a “culture of death” as much as they are what they appear to be: predictions of death— predictions which will not come true. Now, if Weinland manages to somehow hold on to or gain followers past April, I can see how a true “culture of death,” i.e., one leading to mass suicides or other member-caused death might eventually develop. But by far, that seems the least-likely scenario to me at this point. I am inclined more to trust the sentiments of Bzygirl when she repeatedly claimed that she and the others she knew are doing this with their eyes open, and are not anyone’s robots. True, they have been seduced by Weinland’s neo-Armstrongism, but I think that spell will break when Weinland is truly backed into a corner by his own words.
I certainly hope that is the case. But, what if Weinland does manage to hang onto or gain new followers after April 17th?
I too hope BizyGirl and ClaireUK are keeping their “heads on straight” when it comes to any last-minute instructions Weinland may or may not give them the evening of April 17th/18th.
One wonders just how many members of the CoG-PKG there are who do not take such moderate approaches, and instead believe that the world really is going to end in thirty days?
Oh and by the way: The Dow closed UP 400 points. So much for the sinking economy.

Unfortunately I still think Ron will be right in April. He very specifically spoke of numerous nuclear terror attacks on large American cities (like the TV show Jericho). There is no way he can wiggle out of that ‘prophecy’. If nothing like that happens, even if something else ‘big’ happens, there is no doubt he is a false prophet.
If at the end of April he is proven a false prophet, then I end up with extra stored water, canned food and shotgun shells. I will have watched several hours of 1950’s civil defense tapes for nuclear attack. Ron will have not gotten one penny from me.
What if sometime in April your coworker or spouse or neighbor yell at you to turn on the radio/TV because ‘they’ just nuked NYC and DC? Me, I’m gonna think, Oh #%*$, Ron was @&*% right!
The 400 point gain is merely temporary..a daily reaction to the rate cut…the US economy IS in a downward spiral and the dollar is weakening even more…but I don’t need to be an economist or have a direct line to the Allmighty to see it. These are surely tough times all the way around…and even though forums such as these provide healthy discussions and plenty to ponder, we DO need to prepare ourselves for a rocky road ahead…whether it is spiritually, emotionally, economically, and/or physically…I DO believe the world will drastically change(and not for the good)…that’s what brought me to this site to begin with….whether you choose to follow RW or not, what are you folks doing(if anything) to prepare for the near uncertain future???…this question is up for grabs

But that would not make sense before the U.S. pres election and the general attitude of people about the war.
A coordinated attack on this scale and magnitude would have to have nothing short of some sort of supernatural help. Now a more realistic scenario of 1 or 2 nukes can definitely be shrugged (ie recovery) off and would definitely not mean the biblical end times.
Ok the cities are all gone now…but what about the military?

Ironwolf, sorry for the “off topic”…guilty of pondering out-loud… On the last minute instructions RW may give to his followers…I posed that same question to my friend who follows him…”if RW instructed you to end your life, for whatever reason he would give, would you do it?”…She looked at me with a bit of contempt and told me that he would never ask that of anyone since it would be a sin against God…so I’m somewhat assured SHE would not carry out such a horrid instruction…but I wonder if that would be true of others…he could really go over the edge and try to take others with him, even though it is not apart of his teachings….I heard his last sermon on Sat and man oh man…he WAS ranting!!!!…the outrage he displayed over the myspace issue really “sealed it” for me…he’s becoming “unglued”.

Since we have a 1/2 hour of silence, or is that an hour of silence in the heavens, does anyone know the specific time that RW claims to begin communicating with God or speaking for God? Is there a specific sermon this took place? Does he talk about how and when this event, or special ability was bestowed upon him?
I thought I might go back and listen to how things evolved. I listened to the sermons before and after 9-11 (1st thunder/opening of sixth seal), but no apparent epiphany that I could discern. The audio of the first book chapters do not have time stamps like 2008 GFW does.

There could be a “special” passover event at some point where the wine is poisoned. ANYTHING is possible.

Who would we be retaliating against? Where is Al Quad a? Yes it would be a very sophisticated attack, but the slowest learner can learn given time, and above all else, Al Quad a is patient.
Our military would most likely fall under an allies control in the event of loss of command, and they would stand down. I was in the military and they teach you to take orders. They learn you good on that one.
As far as the Presidential election, we do not count. We are only given pre- approved contestants.
When I said NYC and DC, that was only the start, as in a plane hit a tower in NY- the start of 9/11. I actually expect a false flag nuclear attack prior to all this, but it will have no impact on this prophecy. Unless numerous (around 7 or more) attacks take place I will consider Ron a false prophet. That sounds kind of sick but we must hold our end time prophets to a high ideal.
Speaking of Prophets, how would we have reacted to that SOB Moses and his plagues? He didn’t talk very nice either. Perhaps Ron is a psychopath Moses wanna be, but at least any of his BS will be done with by the end of April, What I wanna know is how your gonna react when (and if) Moses comes down the hill with them two tablets?
I have a question. I don’t know alot about military capabilities or weapontry for that fact. What kind of nuclear device could take down a city? Are there really such a thing as a suitcase nuke and would it do the kind of destruction that our nukes did on Japan in world war II or would it be more economic damage from the fear and panic that it would cause? I would imagine that ours used were on a much larger scale. As Weinland predicts would it be possible for someone to just carry a large scale nuclear weapon into a city undetected, one that would level a whole city? Don’t know if anyone would know but just thought I’d ask.
I would guess he is talking about like what Timothy McVeigh did….only with some sort of nuclear componant.
Just park the vehicle near the police station or hospital or whatever and get out, walk away and then ten minutes later….. BOOM!

Hey, since I watched all them nuclear civil defense videos from the 1950’s and I think the Soviet suit case bombs are roughly equivalent to the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombs, perhaps I can toss out a few cents.
The bombs would most likely be on freighter ships in port. Most of the Cities Ron mentions are major port cities. Pre positioned bombs would be the suit case tactical bombs.
These would cause causalities in the hundreds of thousands. That is not even a fraction of our population. Many more will die of ignorance. If the government would teach how to survive a terrorist nuclear attack… but that is not their agenda.
This is what Ron means when he says it is mans doing. That God is only allowing this to happen.
But Ron will be discredited by the end of April and we can go back to our football and beer.

The most likey Nuke used by terrorits would be what is called a “dirty” bomb. These would be a high explosive with a nuclear material. There would not be an actual nuclear explosion, but a large explosion creating or spreading a nuclear cloud or fallout. The actual physical damage would be contained to the immediate detonation area. The nuclear cloud would render the area “uninhabitable”, or unusable depending on the prevailing winds and amount of radioactive material used.
There are suposedly unaccounted for suit case nukes, purportedly from the old Soviet Union. I don’t think thier existence is or has been confirmed. There is conflicting information about them from the current Russian governement, and ex Soviet Union/KGB. They would be single digit kiloton devices (3-5), WWII Nagasaki/Hiroshima where 15-20 kiloton.
A large scale modern nuke, 200-300+ kilotons or larger would be very difficult for terrorsits to possess, transport and use. Not impossible, but they would need some serious “State” help in aquiring such devices. The fireball alone would be more than a mile in diameter. Total destruction of any city it detonated in.

I want to be the last one to be right about “a special Passover” after sunset on April 18th (remember the great trib. is supposed to start on April 17th). Given that there is a chance, I will not shirk from the opportunity to say that I believe there is a possibility, after April 17th, that Weinland’s personal delusions could take a “turn for the worse” and might potentially take some of his followers with him.
Dialogue with members of the church have yielded absolutely no answer at all to my question of their defense that “it’s only a spiritual awakening and nothing physical is supposed to happen”, then why did pp. 23 of 2008: God’s Final Witness say “the world will be shocked and in horror on the day that the seventh (and final) seal is opened”?
None of them have answered my question yet. And the day of the opening of the seventh seal is now over. No shock and horror from where I’m sitting. The Dow Jones even closed UP 400 points.
My family has informed me that RW’s organization is NO LONGER having a FEAST of Tabernacles. They have made NO plans to have one till Christ’s return and establishment of new government.
I will probably be calling my family tomorrow…
yeah, ww, I guess his very loyal followers can make excuses and shine it on for another month. But it is so clear that Ron was saying that something would happen today that would get the attention of the world. It didn’t. I really do believe that a terrorist attack or something of great magnitude will happen pretty soon. I hope I am wrong, but it’s just a gut feeling. I think many people feel the same way. So there is a chance that RW will be given some credibility by some people if an attack were to happen. BUT Ron has stated that all must happen exactly as he has stated, and that is already in question. I’m willing to sit here and continue to read this blog for another 30 days. What else have I got to do? but if the Lord were trying to reach people through the prophecy of Ron, don’t you think He would make this crystal clear? It’s looking foggy at best.
So now Chapter 6 draws to a close, and Chapter 7 is on the next page.
