Ron Weinland: Discussion Part 10

20 days remain until God will be trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored, not to mention loosing the fateful lighting of his terrible swift sword, la de da. So sayeth Ron Weinland. Personally, I thought the opening of the “seventh seal” was a pretty big disappointment after Ron said the world would be in “shock and horror” on that *yawn* fateful day a couple weeks ago. But there you are: the reality very rarely lives up to the hype.

Anyway, I’d like to ask a question of anyone who really believes what Weinland is saying: if nothing awesome happens on April 17, will you publicly repudiate Weinland? If not, why not, and what would it take for you to repudiate him?

  1. Peter says:

Robbi, I am not offended at all, just thought it was funny.

  2. Robbi says:

    Peter: are you there…hello?

  3. Peter says:

    Yes Robbi?

  4. Robbi says:

Peter: I should have waited 2 more seconds…I thought you were avoiding my question…which you are, about being a teenager…you still haven’t answered…are you going to answer…, putting all laughter aside

  5. kurt says:

Milwaukee’s Best- Ice, I wonder if I am in the age range? Sorry if I was rude.

  6. Peter says:

Its cool Kurt. Soon to be 30 but I am still a Toys R Us Kid.

  7. RC says:

    Ironwolf,

Is there a way to automatically be signed up on e-mail for the next page of RW thread?

  8. kurt says:

Robbi; Peter is one of them. No use trying to save him. Nothing good can come of that.

Assume three types. Them, us and the undecided. Worry about the undecided. Worry about the lurking undecided.

  9. Robbi says:

Peter: which do you find more fastenating: the Mayan calendar prediction, or RW???

  10. RC says:

    Peter,

Do you beleive that Weinland is truly one of the two witnesses and do you plan to be baptized in his church? Does anyone else on this blog?

  11. kurt says:

Soon to be 30, see I was thinking more along the lines of the dispersed church. That sucks. But I guess it makes sense to have a young guy to promote his church on a blog like this.

  12. Robbi says:

Kurt: how can Peter be one of them if being on a Mayan calendar site brought him to this site?…sorry Peter, for discussing you as if you’re not even here…now I’m being the rude one….

and Kurt, who exactly are “us”???

  13. kurt says:

Peter only brings in this Mayan stuff to draw in more rubes to their con.

  14. kurt says:

    Robbi;

They have a con going on. They are raking in some big bucks with this end time scam. That is the them.

We do not believe this scam. We would like to see and end to this scam. That is the us.

    Correct me if I’m wrong.

  15. Couldn’t resist posting on this because of the reCaptcha words (no I’m not telling): If you want to sign up for the followup email, just click in the box beside “Notify me of followup comments via email” below. Be warned though you will get a substantial amount of emails……………You can also subscribe without commenting by entering your email address where it says to do just that.

  16. Robbi says:

Peter: do you follow the “what if” or “just in case” concept to the end time prophecies?

  17. Robbi says:

Kurt: got it…no correction needed…but how are they raking in $$$ on the Mayan thing…I must be missing that one..and how is Kurt benefiting by this?…is he one of the BIG thems???? (sorry Peter, talking about you again)

  18. Robbi says:

Kurt: sorry…I meant Peter benefitting, not you…I should proof read before sending….

  19. kurt says:

They are using this Mayan prophecy to their own advantage. This Mayan stuff is big on the internet. Why not cash in on it?

  20. kurt says:

    Have you googled 2012 lately?

  21. kurt says:

People are getting hyped up because of the end of the Mayan calender, they look around and find Ron’s site. He addresses it nicely and has all the other answers we are so desperately seeking.

  22. Robbi says:

Kurt: I’ve been aware of the end time prophecies for qiute some time and spent some time reading them, but then pretty much dismissed them. My friend and I were discussing these turbulant times and the fact that we need to turn things around…when she found RW’s site. She sent away for the books, read them, and became a follower….she sent me the books, I read them, dismissed them as dillusional…but my friend believes and follows RW…she was baptised by him recently. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t out of the growing concern I have for her welfare. She does not profit by following…how is Peter?

  23. Michael says:

Alrighty then. Where to start with you people… Did Ron not sound like an elementary schoolboy working up the nerve to ask a girl to go out with him when he stated that he is a prophet? Didn’t Jesus prove beyond any reasonable doubt that man cannot keep his word, his vows, or any laws commanded of him? Obviously someone left rocks in Ron’s stocking during Christ mas as a child. Those of you getting worked up over Ron, don’t worry, be happy. He already told you that if you are around in three years, you will get to watch him die on the bigscreen. Those of you defending him, have you paid him the tithes he is asking for to become a part of HIS church? I live in the only world that counts, mine. The only thing that is going to happen on April 17, 2008 is that I will have been recorded by the social security administration of living another year. Oh yeah, I’ll also have to drop by the Department of Motor Vehicles and pay my Birthday tax for my privelidge sticker to drive to and from. Now that I have everyones attention, I will open the floor. I have read Ronalds books, listened to his interviews, tried to listen to his sermons, researched his past, Herberts past, and have the mental capacity to help you people through this obviously trying time for you. First things first though. You must understand a few basic principles of the reality that we all share. One, there is no such thing as time. Time is an illusion that man created. It is a perception of individuals marking the rotation of our existence around our energy source. Two, because there is no time, you cannot go back in time or predict exactly what events will occur at any future reference in your life. (Which just so happens to be the only life that matters to you, because it is the only life you can control in your end) Three, Ron says not to work on Saturday. And any educated individual understands that the definition of work is, in it’s simplist form, a transfer of energy. I.E. breathing, eating, bathing, talking, etc. If you believe that God wants you to lose your job and reject the teaching of Jesus, listen to what Ron has to say. If you believe that God wants you to love him unconditionally, buy him something that noone but you knows about and go somewhere noone else will see and give it to him. If you don’t know what to believe, Ask the questions and I will do my best to provide the best answers for you.

  24. steve (lower case) in Australia says:

I’m guessing John Titor will show up on this forum shortly :P

  25. Todaysfate says:

    Robbi …

“but I don not believe it is a forgone conclusion(the end time)…it could be if we, collectively as the intended victims, didn’t fight back…”

    Kurt …

“Your in the paradox because you bought into Ron’s end time get rich scheme. We still have a choice. It is darkest before dawn”

I don’t get it guys…. fight back? End time get rich scheme? God BELONGS here with us and we belong with him. It’s what the Bible tells us we are supposed to be looking forward to. Use some imagination here an think about what this really means… you can’t apply human logic to this … tribulation means tribulation.

  26. Robbi says:

Kurt & Peter: are your posts under the influence of beer or are you posting soberly? sorry, had to ask…it’s my last question of the nite….so…good nite you guys, good nite Jon boy(where ever you are),good nite Mary Ellen, good nite
daddy(IronWolf)…and as a wise man once said “all this sounds like hogwash!”…Grandpa Walton

  27. Todaysfate says:

Whoa … where did Michael come from?

“One, there is no such thing as time. Time is an illusion that man created.”

Precisely…. So assuming that there is a God …. he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, however he wants and to whom he wants.

So why all the talk in here about dates?

We … as something GOD created … can sit arround and complian about how “unfair” it all is … or we can submit.

  28. Doug says:

I believe Weinland is beginning to run for the hills. He told so many people “The proof will be in April 2008,” yet he spiritualizes it all away and changes the date (that we will see physical evidence) to Pentecost or the end of July. Last year in various interviews he said that he would come back in April and say he was a false prophet if there was no physical evidence. Here is a web site that has the 12/15/07 transcription of Weinland’s interview with Edge Radio. http://weinlandtranscripted.wordpress.com/

  29. Michael says:

Ironwolf, good looking out. Robert S, you might be missing your calling. Weinland watch, you help psychologists take the grey from between type A and type B. RKay, Kurt, Peter, nsj, Firestorm, Reciprocity, Todaysfate, Jack, Beaver, Robbi, Brandon, McRose, Banncam, Renton, Steve, RC, CallieMay, Doug, and anyone else I may have missed, a good majority of you are in the scope of this blog as I am because you want to know more, you want to understand, you want to believe in something. You don’t know what it is, but you don’t want to accept that someday you will cease to exist and that all of your life was for not because you will no longer exist. Deep down inside, I think we all have the fear of being placed in the box forever. No matter how religous, that fear creaps into us all. The best way I know to put it is through the following analogy: As a young adult, the sooner we realize that we are going to have to work for the rest of our lives, the happier we will seem to be. (On the the job) The average individual only gets about 80 years, that works out to about 29,000 days. Your going to sleep through about 10,000 of them, your going to stand in line (in person or on the phone) for about 2,500 of them, and your going to be in school or at work for about 7,500 of them. That leaves you about 9,000 days to figure out how your going to get from point A to point B. (You don’t get to chose point A, but you have sole custody of point B) In other words, you have about 30% of your life to ponder your moral values, to obtain your lifetime necessities, to consume your dietary needs, to groom yourself, etc. Point being, you need to get busy living or get busy dying. (Shawshank) A personal belief before I sign off, When Jesus said that he would come like a thief in the night, I think the scripture meant for each his own or in his own time. It may be a train wreck, a plane crash, a hurricane, an earthquake, heart attack, cancer, etc. But, your still here. What risks are you willing to take with the few hours you have left to make a difference in your life. Good luck and try looking at life as it really is, one continuous day from point A to point B.

  30. Peter says:

Hey Kurt, are you freaking out of your mind? I mean, seriously dude, who are you thinking I am part of this COK-PKG or whatever it is called? lol are you serious dude or are you being a freaking troll to me?

And Robbi, does it look like my posts are influenced by beer? Sorry if I misspelled a few words and it sounded like ebonics in a few of them but please! Don’t be ridiculous.

  31. Peter says:

Let me tell you this Kurt, and I think you are not really being serious to me but just being a little troll but I will tell you flat out I don’t follow the Sabbath. I actually don’t believe in this whole Sabbath thing Weinland talks about and others. Never have, never will. Nothing can change my belief on that. Not even Harold Camping really beliefs in the whole Sabbath and I think of that guy as the most knowledgeable reasonable man of the Bible. But not following the Sabbath, ohhh, that means I am really sinning against God since I am really breaking the 4th Commandment I believe it is. Opps!

  32. Jack says:

Peter, my question about your age was not meant to offend. I seriously thought you were very very young because you just seem a bit gullable and well…the impression I got was that you were not too worldly due to your excitment and REAL concerns about THE END….Its just MY perception that all. please DO NOT get offended…I TOO am open to ANYTHING here. RW could be right after all, but by a certain age, we all should be able to handle things more mature. In otherwrds, after living life for 30 40 50 years, and after all life throws our way, (men especially) usually have a WHATEVER, take it as it comes, what can you do, i ll deal with it when it gets here ATTITUDE….and dont take things so seriously…Men are less emotional, ANYONE married can probably vouge for that! and if they cant?? ask their wives, they will tell you about the LAZY attitudes..(BTW this was meant to entertain too!!!!!! RELAX PEOPLE!

  33. Peter says:

I went to the bookstore a few hours and picked myself up Carl Sagan’s book, “The Demon-Haunted World.” That guy is a genius. Thanks Ironwolf for having it up on your site because I never heard about it or saw it before.

I also picked up two other books. Atheism Explained From Folly to Philosophy by David Ramsay Steele and the Atheist Manifesto by Michel Onfray.

  34. Peter says:

Hey Jack, I am not offended. I hope I am gullible. In some ways I am. I will tell you though, back in 2000, I never even remotely considered about the end of the world or something crazy happening. I have never been that way only up until about a year ago, but as time drew on and I did more research, then it started opening up my eyes more and awakening my consciousness.

  35. Peter says:

Heck, I want to see my San Antonio Spurs repeat this year more than anything. I don’t want this crap to happen but if it does than time to change paths in life I guess and accept reality.

  36. kurt says:

Peter, don’t know what a ‘troll’ is, but but yea, I may have been one- sorry.

Anyway, moving on here. What is it- only 30% of my life to get from point A to B? And for a brief moment of that time I believed Ron. It pissed me off that I could fall for a cheap two-bit bait and switch charlatan.

It is hard for me to see how anyone can continue to defend or believe Ron. Unless they are new to Ron. That and my natural paranoia (and yes Robbi- beer) make me see COG-PKG ‘elders’ posting on this site. Being a ‘troll’ to them would not make me sorry.

Ron has forbidden members of his church to post on these sites. That is scary to me. Is my thinking that Ron would direct one or more of his ‘elders’ to post on this site crazy?

  37. Paul says:

I hav,nt listened to Rons latest sermon yet,but if its now extended to June/July then he is obviously a fake…If you listen to his radio Interviews he gives us all till April to witness the first “PHYSICAL” side of the Great Tribulation(30 days of silence from March 18th)..There is no more “Spritual” going back on this..The Spiritual stuff is starting to wear thin…We have till April!..Any comments without proof into May are Laughable to say the least…We have to have a deadline on this and i feel Ron has set it..April 17th…

  38. Robert S says:

    Kurt,

    You said:

“Beware the words from a viper. Beware the words of someone who has already bought into this foul pyramid scheme, trying desperately to pull you into their midst.”

I have no idea what your response to my latest post meant, but since you read it at least you know where I am coming from (I think) :-)

I don’t think it’s too difficult to determine the RW “spies” who post here. Initially they may portray a sincere question about RW, but it soon becomes apparent as they reveal more about their beliefs, or the “stand” they are taking what their motivations are. If they actually stay for any length of time and actually try to be relevant. There is the possibility that a simply brilliant intellect could use his skill to deceive, but I personally don’t believe a brilliant intellect would subscribe to the RW lunacy. As NJF or NSJ, WW, Banncam and others pick-up on the deception and actually confront some of these “spies”, they soon disappear when they refuse to address specific questions. It’s actually amusing when you see it develop, much like a parent catching a young child in a lie.

I do think it’s “amazing” how RW is directly addressing this blog and our responses in his latest sermon, the “critics” and “skeptics” as he put it yesterday. Why someone claiming to be a speaking for God would need to get off message and direct his resources to his critics is mind boggling. RW’s little world is beginning to unravel before our eyes, and here we sit as “witnesses” to his own end time. How ironic :-)

Michael, I like your perspective :-)

  39. kurt says:

Yea, that is amazing that he would address this sick, sick, sick, sick blog. Amazing how the mind works!

  40. Robbi says:

Peter & Kurt: nothing wrong with a few good brewskies…just wanted to keep it real.

Paul:agreed… RW is back peddling…I hope he has a rear view mirror so he doesn’t crash into something(spiritually speaking)lol

  41. Richard_Saunders says:

Weinland claimed 10 years ago that the end was going to begin in a year. Didn’t happen. He goes on the radio, going on 5 years ago now, and claims if these cataclisms he forecasts don’t happen from 2007 to 2008 he’s a false prophet and a rambler. [Listen to the WSPD radio interview with Denny Shaffer. No, seriously, listen to it!] (I actually heard that live.) Didn’t happen. Then he says NO! No, we’re only supposed to START in four years. Good save! Didn’t happen. In 2007 he writes a book that he claims is inspired directly from the mouth of a messenger from God and he personally chose the sign – he chose the 5th thunder. Some specific things were to happen in 2007, namely the deaths of very specific people as the fulfillment of the 5th thunder. Stakes his reputation on its accuracy. God Himself supposedly said “Ron, you choose the 5th thunder that I didn’t let the Apostle John write. It’s all about you, buddy.” Doesn’t happen. He comes out and says NO! No, they were only supposed to ramp up in 2007; they’ll be real loud in early 2008. He comes out this year after his forecasts failed and he says, in a nutshell, “I know God inspired that book, let me choose the 5th thunder and all, told me to spread the word about the book, and I staked my reputation on the book, but now He tells me it wasn’t time for me to understand and He’s changed the whole… I mean, accurately told me the meaning of things.” So, trash the words of that 2008 book, they weren’t well worded when they were given to him directly by a messenger from God a few short months before their fulfillment. NOW he’s got it right. All those things in Daniel and Revelation and the Minor Prophets and the Epistles and his own books that talk about very specific things that are supposed to happen in a very specific order (like the rise of the Beast, who is completely absent right now) etc were actually talking about peace in the church – HIS church….
    …..
    ….
    ok.
Anyhow, since the 1290 began we’re supposed to see his church growing. That’s it. That’s the end time. This is the time of Satan’s wrath right now, according to him. And I’m not feeling it. Perhaps there will be some destruction in April on the 17th, but when that fails maybe we’ll get his latest revelation on why we misunderstood and it wasn’t time for us to know yet. Now, even though the end was supposed to start in 1998, we’re in 2008 waiting for the end to start. His radio interview said in 2007-2008 it would be all over; we’ll know in 2011. FALL of 2011. Which pretty much makes it 2012. Just enough time for him to sock away boatloads of ill-gotten lucre, much the same as he did to his previous church based in Toledo back in 1999-2000, and his previous church before that to a lesser degree in Pennsylvania in the early 1990’s.

How many of you think that in 2012 he’ll come out and say “God spoke to me again and He says the bride hasn’t made herself ready. He’s going to have to put you through a longer time of testing to weed out all you people He called in that just aren’t true believers.”??? I DO. He’ll give a new target date, let’s say, ohhhhh 2015. And that’s how it will go.

I believe in a literal end. I believe in the core of what Ron is preaching because if I believe in the Bible I have to believe that stuff. I believe it is ONLY important to know the prophecy verses, NOT to listen to anyone who tries to explain them, so that when those things come you will see it for yourself. If more people did that, we could have avoided this whole Ron Weinland mess.

  42. Doug says:

Here is the transcription of yesterdays sermon 3/29/08 at http://weinlandtranscripted.wordpress.com/

  43. Richard_Saunders says:

Doug, thanks for the post. He wouldn’t want to be in my shoes on April 17th, or Pentecost at the latest.
I wonder… maybe in September 2011, the return of Jesus is supposed to ramp up? It takes a while to get here from Heaven.

I think this RW could seriously be written about in the Bible. He just might be THE False Prophet of Revelation.

  44. Trey says:

    Todays fate! Please!!!!!!!!
    Oh my God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I have been away reading and posting inanother blog
I comeback to catch up on this one. You have gotten so friggin twisted in tha last couple of days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to ask you a question. A serious one.
1 Do you believe inthe Bible? or not? If you do then your statements about people changing God’s plans or God telling a prophet to change a date is
    ****–F***ING BULL_SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ron has a grip on you!!!!!!1 and you will follow him down the tubes. If you actually believe what you say about man and God.
God does what He wants NOT what MAN wants. That is only if you believe the Bible though.

If a person is a prophet of God there wil be no need to cahnge any thing he has said. First, he is chosen of God and would not ramble stupid things. 2, his message would not stray from God’s in any way shape or form. Show me an example of that any where in the Bible. And Show me any example of God telling any prophet to change any date about any thing!!!!!!!!!!! You are obviously reading a differrent book!!!! 2008 God’s Final Witness? Oh wait, The Prophesied Endtime? Are those your Bible now?

If you would have been some one other than an apparently proclaimed christian I would have said nothing to you, but since you claom to be one and a Bible believer…..
    Get your SHIT straight man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Trey

  45. Todaysfate says:

    Trey,

Ive come to the conclusion that the “end times” are NOW … before I ever heard of Ron Wienland … or Herbert W Armstrong …. or the COG, Splinters groups etc.

    Why?

I simply believe that the world has gone to shit over that last few years … JUST the last few years … more seriously and faster than it could ever have “naturally” ….

When I say “world” I am talking about PEOPLE … not oceans and mountains. Whether you want to call this Satan running rampant in the hearts and minds of almost ALL humanity … or not … THAT is what it is.

Richards comment that Ron could perhaps be THE false prophet … is even better … Dare I say that Ron could even turn out to be … *gasp* .. the anticrist. Hitler didn’t become powerful overnight niether. And if this is what happens … then the end time IS HERE man.

On the time issue … do you believe that God posesses people and litterally controls their actions? You shoudn’t because God says that he does not and WILL not.

Therefore … if a prophet of God came and told the world that YOU were going to walk accross the street at 2:PM …. YOU have the “God given” choice, will and freedom to decide NOT to …. basiclly for no other reason that OUT OF SPITE. Or is it that you feel that some sort of power will come over you … and you won’t be able to help but to cross the street.

In realtion to “BOMBS” going off……. WE CAN change what we are going to do based on the information we are given. I never said that GOD doesn’t know this aleady… it only looks like that to us.. er … to YOU. But there really is no way for God to tell the rest of us something is going to happen … without giving the perpetrators the heads up as well … and THEY CAN change their minds.

Natural calamities are a different matter … but Ron W hasn’t given an exact date for anything like that. As I believe most of us agree … ANYTHING caused by man isn’t realiable prrof … even if it happens on April 17th.

  46. Weinland Transcripted: That’s a good starting point. I plan to get some verbatim quotes from the sermon up from it. The only (minor) quibble I have with the transcript is that Passover is the 18th, not the 14th.

I completely blanked on that part at the end about Weinland calling for the critics’ deaths LOL that’s too precious.

For all those “waiting” until April 17th to declare him false, Weinland will have skipped town by/on that date, and he’s telling church members to wait until Pentecost (June) or possibly July, now. Of course with Matthews’ letter, the church has given itself six months to a year’s worth of wiggle room.

  47. Firestorm says:

RW: “I will do exactly what I said I would do on aaaaall those interviews that I have held.”
Alright-y then! So according to this the closest day has to be on May 1…but no later. …unless of course it’s some sort of spiritual mega blast on the scale of spiritually being shocked and horror-ed. A terrible (non happening) example set for all his spiritual happening predictions…the last one should be on the increase btw…but all I ‘experience’ is the birds chirping outside…
It sure ‘pays off’ to play the guessing game.

  48. Todaysfate says:

If a nuke (or nukes) goes off on April 17th … what I am going to believe is that some very, very evil people are in power in this world. Not that Ron W is a prophet of God. I simply believe that something like this will only happen if its “allowed” to happen.

Does that mean that Ron W had some kind of inside knowledge that didn’t come from God? Maybe.

I wonder if the Pressident of the United States is planning to be in Washington when the pope is. I wonder if Bill and or Hillary are going to be in New York when the pope is.

    Clues are subtle ….

  49. Observant “critics” will also note that Weinland has already set a precedent for cutting and running when he can no longer stand the heat: He did it to at least one Worldwide Church of God congregation, and he followed it up some time later with a repeat performance at his United Church of God congregation.

In both cases, members of each congregation did not know Weinland was leaving, until it was a done deal. Even money says that this is exactly what he plans to do on the 17th April, to the CoG-PKG. If he doesn’t play either of the “Waaaaait until Julyyyyyyy!” or “The bride of christ wasn’t ready.” cards.

  50. Ironwolf says:

So soon already? Yep, time to flip another burger. Please join me over here.
