Oh btw I’m not even a member of the pkg, and i’m seein these things…keep in mind the popular media is paid in dollars by US companies so it goes against their best interests to report certain things…if they spell out doom for the US economy it makes possible doom likely doom because if people lose faith in the dollar (which is only backed up by our FAITH in our government) they’re likely to spend less which can crumble the economy.
I really hope to get better discussion on this thread. I came hear to learn more about a guy who’s likely crazy where I can hear from a few who disagree with him and a few followers instead its a bunch of people who are making up arguments to disprove someone who should be easy to disprove. Some of you guys might have been personally hurt by the COG which might explain some of the ‘arguments’ which i have to understand even tho I can’t relate.
Oh and IronWolf i understand this is your blog but if you’re gonna bother moderating you’ve gotta be more on point…I notice how quickly you’ve been changing pages but you gotta notice alot of the posts are mindless banter, i and i dont just mean cuz a couple of lines are off topic, i mean dudes like kurt just saying random nonsense for multiple posts at a time…even tho i know he’s not an idiot cuz when he’s being serious i pay attention to his point of view.

That one-half hour actually equates to 20.83 years earth time. If we can use the same mathematics here on earth as it is in heaven. Could you imagine silence in heaven for 30 days, yet alone 20 years? You would be able to hear a pin drop in heaven. This must be so reassuring for those who are part of the angelic realm. This is absurd. His whole explanation is delusional.
I like to think i know a lil math….but when i multiply 30 days on earth is 30 mins in heaven i don’t come up with 1 day being 1k years,.. i come up with 1 day= 4 years. Can you help me out with this math you are using?
It’d be cool if false prophets still faced the panalty of death, that way whoever claims to be one is either crazy or is the real deal. I hope RW is the real deal, not saying i totally believe it or i’d bet large amounts of money on it but i hope. Because if he is, thats’ good for everyone cuz the world gets even more terrible for 3.5 year but then those who aren’t around get brought back for another chance and i’d hve to assume if you’re brought back to life that’d make you believe…but if RW is lying…that’s one of the lowest things you can do…like killing your own children…terrible…
I noticed that RW spoke of 9/11 as a thunder? i mean, for americans thats probably a big deal, but 9/11 to me is dead history, like a drop in the ocean in comparison to the tsunami and the other disasters of late. all i hear from others is 911 conspiracy theories cos america keeps bringing up 911 and its starting to become very annoying.

The reason for this insanity? From the Biblical perspective or man’s?
From man’s, it’s good old greed. You have money, they have cunning, and P.T. Barnaum would be proud. I know a little about these men from the various COG offshoots. They are, as people have said here, sincere. Heck yes RW is sincere!! He honestly believes the lies he’s blaspheming God with. That may get him off the eternal damnation punishment on a technicality, I donno, I’m not his judge, however he himself used to say “don’t believe me, believe your Bible.” And the cold reality is people don’t do that.
From the Biblical perspective, God allows this sort of thing mainly because we all need to learn why “evil” is so, well, evil. And why choosing the best option is, well, best. If we don’t learn that, in whatever way our free moral agency takes us, then all God could do is warn you and let you go your way. You don’t like what Ron is doing? Then 1) get out, 2) don’t do this yourself, 3) help others caught in his web. Ron isn’t doing anything that hasn’t been done before. Like fishing – you’d think the fish would have learned by now. Perhaps the Bible should have said we are all like fish instead of sheep! I would be like delicious ocean Perch, with a little dill and lemon. mmmmmmm mmmmm Good eatin.

They are nothing like Ron and will help you get yourself out of there. That’s your first step. I know you’re thinking “what of my family/friends/loved ones that I’m leaving behind?” You’re not leaving anyone behind. But you’re not helping anyone by staying. You need to get to a place where you can clear your head and think clearly. That’s the best start I can recommend.

Let me give you some sound advice. DO NOT think anyone has caused this but Ron himself. You ask ‘where is God’ as if God has either caused this or abandoned you to this. Here’s the reality – Ron Weinland has caused this. The fact that you are cognizant enough to realize this and that you are asking for help is a good indicator that God has not abandoned you to anything. Just contact those people up there, don’t start to let reality slip just yet. DON’T do anything rash.

By the way, the important clue seems to have been left out in the cold here……The elders will now be “in charge” of their respective church areas, as of Saturday. I’ve collected all the names of the elders that I could glean from the various sermons (I’ve been keeping a file on them as Weinland went along), and did some CoG-related searches to see which ones came up as hits as being previous Church of God members. The results are here.
The “elders” seem to fit the demographics of the members in the church; either they came out of United or Worldwide and rode with Ron through the whole thing, or they’re fresh-faced to the whole Church of God movement, and don’t realize Rotten Ronnie’s prophecies are three-quarters of a century old and that kingdom ain’t come yet.
Interesting to note the one ex-Worldwider Ron railed against in the 3/29 sermon (the one who emailed, wanting to be made an elder) was refused. I wonder if it was one of the ex-Worldwiders who were in Vancouver WA the previous week?
Anyway. This guy was probably formerly a member of the ministry in Worldwide and thought it would be the same ball game, which was why he asked Ron for the eldership (since it’s all about whose butt you kiss after all). The key thing is, Ron refused, which means either A) Buddy didn’t kiss up enough or B) Ron really believes what he’s saying, as nsj and Banncam pointed out.
As for “April 17th in Jerusalem” I would be unsurprised if that did not come to pass at all……..not if Weinland is already handing over the reigns of power to the local congregations. That is if he does indeed intend to make away with the money, as he has done before, with first his Worldwide congregation and then his United one.
If Weinland truly is drinking his own Kool-Aid though (and the one part of the equation I still can’t factor in is the wife), then he may just find himself in Jerusalem on April 17th………Mightn’t be the one in Israel but I’m sure the church members aren’t going to be picky.
Mark my words (and I stand by this prophecy more than Weinland does his own) people, this church will be keeping the Feast of Tabernacles yet.

oh, I’d bet anything they keep the FOT this year. Ron will be proven false, many of the new comers will leave, and some that have been around will give up. There will be several though that won’t leave because they still believe it is “the church” and since Johnny Harrell and Wayne Matthews didn’t claim to be one of the witnesses or a prophet, they’ll just take over.

Anybody have any updates on Katii Dauer? I wonder if she ever got an upgrade on her “crappy-ass bible” she spoke about on “The Edge”

Bear in mind Weinland also said he would stop preaching by Pentecost or by July. So he is still wiggling on the dates. Especially with his whole “I haven’t the foggiest idea what’s going to happen on April 17th” schtick.
If he doesn’t know what’s going to happen, that provides a god-sized escape clause that “Whoops, we don’t need to go to Israel after all!” Or there are other, darker possibilities for the Weinlands themselves…….. Could that be why the Harrells are going along? No wait that implies some human compassion in Johnny Harrell’s actions, that clearly isn’t the case.
Elder Don Edwards and his wife/family might also be in the travelling party as well (they were in Los Angeles when the Weinlands were, and the elder giving the closing prayer in the Netherlands mentioned there were Americans travelling with the Weinlands), wherever that “travelling party” ends up going on 17th April……….I believe there was mention made of a second elder being ordained in the Phoenix area, which would back this theory up.
The other factors that have to be considered, whether Weinland is drinking his own Kool-Aid or not, is if Harrell is too, or if he’s just in it for the money. I would say it’s likely Harrell is in it for the money, given that he’s been down this road with Worldwide before. I guess Harrell figured out how to play Weinland, unlike the ex-Worldwider from Washington who tried to get an eldership out of Rotten Ron last week……..
And still, and still, through all of this, I just can’t get a bead on the wife! She’s the second witness, but is she nuts like Weinland (not likely), battered/brainwashed into submission (more likely) or just going along for the ride because of the fancy home/cars/goodies? That last option is the most likely of all; she has been around since Weinland’s Worldwide days.
But the question is valid: Is the little woman milking her husband’s delusional state for all she can, is she a true believer in the church and what he’s doing, or is she the one who’s been overboard from the beginning and she actually believes she is the second witness, and Weinland is the one who’s milking her delusions for the money?
Regardless of Matthews and Harrell taking over (which I predicted way back in the conversation), something is definitely going to happen to the Weinlands on April 17th, and to the members of their church, if Weinland does decide to pull a fast one, no matter how convinced he is of his “prophet” status.
Do you really think Weinland would “pack up and move from the golf course” though nsj? Like you said earlier, and as Banncam has said, as all of us have noted, he doesn’t seem the type to just walk away from it all. Especially when he keeps pushing the dates forward as he does.
Time will tell. Three more weeks for some, five more weeks for others, Pentecost or July for Weinland himself (if he doesn’t push it ahead again).
The remainder will end up still going to church and tithing and not even thinking about asking for their money back, after 2009 comes and goes, and 2010, and 2011, and 2012, and 2013……..

In April 17th on what EVIDENCE and or on what grounds will he claim (official) the title of God’s true end time witness?
For instance so far there has been NO EVIDENCE to back up such claim.

He stated that ‘everyone’ will have by the very least recognized him before this April 17th thing. So if he has his job dubbed ‘official’ and given more superhero powers (ie spew fire out of mouth, bring plagues of his choosing on the earth) he would be missing out on one detail. Nobody would even

If he wants to play ‘end of the world’ with his church…that’s fine, there is nothing to stop him from doing so…but please leave the world out of it!

The reason I’m saying he will pack up and leave is because after he is proven false beyond any doubt to the members, he won’t be able to preach anymore. He will stop because no one will listen to him. He said (If things don’t come to pass by pentecost I am a false prophet and will stop preaching). If anyone would follow him after he says that, they are total morons and too ignorant to be helped. I’ve already told my family several times that I know he is completly false…but I’ll eat my words if they prove him to be true. I also said that after he is exposed as a fraud …. there is no resetting dates, no going to another splinter, no more…period. I’m going to have a big RW and HWA book and liturature burning in my back yard if ya’ll want to stop by and add to the pile.

Not even Weinland has any skills to get a real job……..none of the ex-Worldwide ministers of misery did, which was why so many of them ran off and formed their own churches when it all hit the fan.
There are 700 splinter Churches of God by some estimations, which includes the “single-church” splinters. Yes I believe those are CoGs too, for all that they declare themselves “independent”.
