Ron Weinland: Discussion Part 17
With two days to go, Ronny’s wife (AKA the Speechless Witness) just called from Israel and asked that I play Ronny’s favorite song as a little surprise. So I’m gonna do that now, and dedicate it to Ronny and Todaysfate.
Where would the world be without you guys?

That’s great, it starts with an earthquake,
Birds and snakes, an aeroplane and Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn,
World serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs,
Feed it off an aux speak, grunt, no strength,
Ladder start to clatter with fear fight down height.
Wire in a fire, representing seven games,
A government for hire and a combat site.
Left of west and coming in a hurry,
With the furies breathing down your neck.
Team by team reporters baffled, trumped, tethered cropped.
Look at that low playing! Fine, then.
Uh oh, overflow, population, common food, but it’ll do.
Save yourself, serve yourself.
World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed dummy,
With the rapture and the revered and the right, right.
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched.
It’s the end of the world as we know it,
It’s the end of the world as we know it,
It’s the end of the world as we know it,
And I feel fine.
Six o’clock - TV hour. Don’t get caught in foreign towers,
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn,
Locking in, uniforming, book burning, blood letting,
Every motive escalate, automotive incinerate,
Light a candle, light a votive. Step down, step down,
Watch your heel crush, crushed, uh-oh, this means no fear cavalier.
Renegade steer clear,
A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies.
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives,
And I decline.
It’s the end of the world as we know it,
It’s the end of the world as we know it, (can’t I have some time alone?)
It’s the end of the world as we know it, (can’t I have some time alone?)
And I feel fine.
The other night I dreamt of knives, continental drift divide.
Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom!
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam book neck, right? Right.
It’s the end of the world as we know it,
It’s the end of the world as we know it,
It’s the end of the world as we know it,
And I feel fine.

Let me revise my last post.
I meant to say “knowledge and wisdom to know more about God” not just simply knowledge and wisdom of science, physics, or whatever. And Jon, I read all posts starting from page 1. I may have forgotten some of the posts about revelations, but I am trying to not be repetitive here to the best of my knowledge. So, I apologize if if is repetitive.

If Ironwolf’s video link doesn’t work, try this one:

Enjoy!!!!!
Now I’m off to fulfill a prophesied date: need to get my taxes mailed off before midnight.
Otherwise …. I feel fine.
April 15th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
Ironwolf I would like to post this as possible clarification to Borat adn Jon.
Jon: If I may give this point. There are two theory’s about when the book of revelation was written. the early theory says it was written in the 60’s AD the late theory says it was written in the 90’s. In the early theory it answers the question of a physical destruction of Jerusalem.
I would like to demonstrate something if I can. If we look back at the book of Daniel we find earthly kingdoms that were prophecied to come.
It also gives a physical picture of events that were to come. If we look back at history we find that these kingdoms have been proven to come on the world scene exactly like they were prophecied to come. If a person in 500 AD were to look at those prophecies thay could not possibly understand because all these kingdoms had not happened yet, there fore the prophecies were sealed until the time of the end. Following this we can see that the book of revelation is in a somewhat chronological order. The last book is after all these things have happened therefore it is not sealed.

April 15th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Borat,
First of all, thank you for at least asking the questions. It is appreciated.
Revelation (singular) was written between AD 68 and AD 98, with most scholars putting it around the AD 90 mark. However, if you dig enough (I had to for my bloody masters thesis) you’ll find that the support for 90-ish AD is very thin. The vast majority of early scholars until the time of Constantine dated the book in or about AD 70. This is important.
Now, reference Isaiah 13
, the destruction of Babylon. Here’s where the story gets interesting.
To say “Babylon would be destroyed” was no more prophetic during the time of Isaiah than me saying, “A city in Iraq will soon come under fire,” in the days of Chimpy… er, George W. Babylon was under constant pressure by the Medes during the days of Isaiah who had recently sacked Nineveh. Jews were exiled under the rule of Cyaxares, probably due in part to their adherence to the scriptures predicting the destruction of Babylon (which again was not that far-fetched of an idea. : )
Anyhoo…when you read Isaiah 13
, you’re confronted with the same exact language as found in Matthew 24
(which quotes Isaiah) and Revelation. This is also found in the destruction of other physical cities in the Bible, not just Babylon.
Just as, say, sardonic humor is the style of sitcom writing today, while situational humor was more in vogue in the 1950s, so have writing styles changed over the eons when it comes to this sort of thing. The hyperbolic style of the Jewish authors has been so well-studied that I’m surprised when people still try to make “day of the Lord” the end of the world.
The “Day of the Lord” was the fall of a city. Nothing more. They elaborated on this with such nonsense as “stars falling from the sky” and so-on; the exact same stuff of Revelation.
So, what do MOST Christian scholars do when they are faced with (a) the claims in Revelation correlate perfectly with the actual physical destruction of Jerusalem; and (b) these same claims in the past correlate perfectly with the known destruction of physical cities?
They make shit up.
It’s called “dual prophecy” theology; a prophecy can have a literal meaning AND a spiritual, metaphysical, not even in the same century meaning.
The trouble is - we have zero evidence for this. None. Not one bloody verse.
So, we are now forced to read Isaiah, knowing full well Babylon was conquered shortly before (oops!) it was written, and read all the funky bits like, “Day of the lord”, or “stars falling” with an unfounded, inaccurate conjecture that THIS part has yet to be fulfilled. It’s utter nonsense.
The fact is this language is used throughout ALL Jewish literature, not just the Bible, and any well-meaning Jew would know what it meant.
So, now read Revelation (and Matthew 24
, and whatever else) with the idea that the writers were talking to a ’specific’ audience (theirs) for a specific time. Revelation is abundantly clear about the timeline, from Revelation 1:1
on. It even lists the churches the Revelation was to be given to! Why only a select group? Makes sense if you look at a map and understand that Roman occupation would be hardest on them. Makes NO sense if you assume this entire book was written for someone in 2008 AD — NONE. Zero.
Had it been for future generations, the same warning given in Daniel 12
would have been given — to seal the words for the future generations. Revelation 22:10
is the exact opposite, down to the giving up of ministry (”Let him who is evil continue in his evil…”)
Perhaps you should read more about the history of the fall of Jerusalem then. The Roman army was a smidge larger than 1000 soldiers.
Dude, watch the zeros. This is how myths get started. It was 200,000, not 200 MILLION. We don’t have a 200 MILLION man army today…not even close.
The Roman Empire had between 25 and 30 legions of men with each containing 5500-6000 men, not counting the thousands of men carrying supplies. The actual raid on the city took only a fraction of what John saw, but he knew full well the size of the army, hence the 200,000 number. Do the math — it’s damn close to 200,000.
Starting to see the parallels?
Well, he did speak through an ass once if that’s what you mean. : )
However, he supposedly chose Paul, who was a man of extreme education.
If you want to read more about how this fits in with scripture, go here –

Hi Pastor,
See my long post above concerning this. For my thesis I dug into so many books I lost track. I can flat-out tell you that the evidence for a post-fall Revelation is slim to none, and that was buried purposefully by the Hellenizing fathers of the early Roman church (200-350 AD.) And, for good reason — Revelation, never meant to be understood by the poor masses, would invoke tons of fear the Church could control.
If you look at Daniel, tell me what kingdoms you see that came that were not either (a) prior to the writing of Daniel, or (b) self-evident throughout their known world.
Can you supply me with one reference we can examine?
Again, what kingdoms??
Even if this is true, which I highly doubt, Daniel was “meant” for future generations, so it would stand to reason. Revelation is clear in its immediacy. This theme was echoed by Paul, Peter and even Jesus.
To believe these were long-distance events is just not credible within the context of the entire NT. Too many authors, and Jesus himself, considered their age the “end” and the day “at hand.” None of this makes sense with what you are saying.
It makes perfect sense if it deals only with the destruction of Jerusalem.
That betrays the text. The word “book” is our word for scroll — not ‘chapter’. The instruction was to avoid sealing up the “scroll” of prophecy he was writing because the time was at hand. There is not doubt that John took this to mean the time was at “his” hand, not some distant time in the future.
This is clear from 1:1. The word “soon” is only used three times in the NT, and always to denote absolute immediacy.
April 15th, 2008 at 6:06 pm
Jpn, The Book of Daniel list four kingdoms in chapter 2, These are explained in chapter seven. In history we find that these kingdoms were in face the Babylonian, the Medo-Persian, The Greco-Macedonian and the Roman empire. These kingdoms are explained in chapter 8, I do not think there is an historian anywhere who will not document that this talking about these kingdoms. The Roman empire was to have resurrection after resurrection. This has happened. In the 11th chapter of Daniel it talke about the king of the north and south. these are proven throughout history that as one king gets conquered a new king comes up and this goes on for centuries. This can be easily proven. Now you can tell me that this book was not written by Daniel if you wish. But the beast in Daniel are the same beast pictured in Revelation, only we have moved forward in time and are only talking about the last beast that is to be in power at the end.
April 15th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
sorry Jon type-o in your name
April 15th, 2008 at 6:23 pm
Jon I understand that it is a scroll, we use the term book. You said that Jesus thought that His return was imminent. This does not make sense, given that He dictated Matthew 24
. Nations rising takes time, wars and rumors of wars, none of this was immediately happening, they were solidly under the roman occupation. There were to be earthquakes in different places, how many earthquakes happen simultaneously? It was not possible to exterminate all flesh from the earth at that time. This is a modern occurrence. I do not believe that Jesus thought His return was imminent by the context of this chapter.
Now I believe that the Disciples thought that the end was near. I believe Jesus let them think that so they would not lose hope.
April 15th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
jon which 1:1? In Revelation 1:1
the word is shortly come to pass and the word is used 1754 times in the NT.
April 15th, 2008 at 6:39 pm
And your proof that just because we now have an understanding of it … that “natural selection” isn’t actually the work of GOD?
April 15th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
Pastor Porter - I prophesy that you are about to receive a very long post from Jon in reference to your discussion about the word ’soon’.
April 15th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Pastor - what do you think that John meant in Rev. 1:1
when he said “shortly these things would come to pass”. What does shortly mean?
April 15th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
In amongst all these long posts, I thought I’d drop off this link, an atheist’s thoughts on Ron Weinland.

So which one of you is it?
April 15th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Ekminks - Good find!
April 15th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
The only thing I’m killing is time, just like the Mad Hatter. It’s funny how Todaysfate immediately resorts to calling me a “murderer” when I made a simple but frightening prediction concerning his Tomorrowsfate. Isn’t that what RW is doing? He’s predicting the mass murder of millions of innocent people by his benevolent (sic) god and RW himself being the conduit to carry out these atrocities.
Hell, I can prophesies too, and it’s not such fun when it hits home is it Todaysfate. Todaysfate, if you renounce your hatred for humanity and stop treating life and death like some kind of a game, I’ll change my former prophesy (because it is progressively revealed to me by god) and predict that you have until 2060 until your inevitable demise. Of course you must tithe 10% of your income to me to ensure my altered prophesy remains true. If you don’t tithe to me I cannot be held responsible for whatever befalls you.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
Pastor,
I have company tonight, but I will address these issues tomorrow or Thursday (tomorrow is a travel day. : )
Thanks for posting specifics. They will help a great deal.

Jack,
Moron? Why, blessed be.
Me thinks you needs some of Jesus’ lovin’ mercies.
That being said, you should refrain from issuing orders to me or to anyone else on this blog, or using THE ALL CAPS TO MAKE YOUR POINTS!!!
Oh, and…uh…Bush sucks.
Jon
April 15th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
Can you imagine what it will be like when RW finds that his powers have increased? Will he ask God for the blinders to be removed from the eyes of the deceived? Will he ask to smite the demonic bloggers? Will he ask for the state of California to slip into the ocean via the most powerful earthquake on record? Will he ask to be Britney’s next beau? What will RW ask? Any guesses??? Don’t forget he thinks us all sick, sick, sick….
April 15th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Well this is it Ladies and gentlemen, the eve of the eve of what we have been waiting months and months for. And I sense a bit of nerves.
Certain individuals seem to want to fill this blog up as quickly as possible with their usual intelectual nonsense, only more so. Perhaps with the idea they can make this pass more quickly due to latent fears, or their continuing love affair with their so called reason. Great read, that.
We all seem to have something in common with this Wienland fellow. We have all spoken against him. And now his appointed hour nears.
I wonder, with it being dark outside, is any willing to call him false? To potentially bring forth wrath. To say there is no doubt he is false while the wrath has not yet been rationed? You know, just in case?
Now that Ron will soon assume the role of God’s prophet, or not, who will be the first to jump off the fence? With a new blog page, who will call him false first?
April 15th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Kurt - I’ve already called him false. False prophet. Needs therapy. No fears here. Worried about my family. Not worried about myself.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
Ethics and values are very pliable. The religious right is anti abortion due to the sanctity of human life, but when thousand are killed due to our (US) vicious military actions, well “those” people’s lives are not sacred. In fact we objectify them as “collateral damage.”
• United States Department of Defense definition collateral damage — Unintentional or incidental injury or damage to persons or objects that would not be lawful military targets in the circumstances ruling at the time. Such damage is not unlawful so long as it is not excessive in light of the overall military advantage anticipated from the attack. (Joint Publication 3-60)
You want to talk about teen pregnancy, divorce rates, and pornography when this ambiguous definition gives the right to kill innocent people for anticipated military advantage? The word “excessive” can be stretched until it has no meaning whatsoever. I wonder if there will be collateral damage when god sets off nuclear weapons.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
Bush does suck, and if you can’t make your point in a paragraph or two, so do you.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
Marie;
We have called him false from a safe distance. But this is different. Who knows what can happen in a few days. I have called him a con. But we are getting close to a date he has been talking about for four years…
April 15th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Robert Demarco - I know people you would more than likely characterize as “the religious right” that are just as upset about military action leading to death. Some go so far as to believe force should never be used - “justified” - or not. There are those who believe the sanctity of life does not just apply to the unborn - but - all people - believers and non-believers alike.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
Go ahead, call him false. Here, for all to see.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
Kurt - we are getting close to “a date” he has been talking about…but…he has recently been talking about “so many different dates” that I am not so sure there will be one that you could choose as the time of “shock and awe” and “great wonder”. I don’t know…do you honestly think that RW will hold to April 17 as being “the day” should it pass with nothing out of the ordinary? I believe he will say it is spiritual and something big will happen later…someday soon….Mother’s Day….Pentecost…..Fourth of July - that’s a good one. There will be fireworks for sure then. Sorry to poke fun…but, come on!
April 15th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
A tad scary that. Especially to be the first.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:54 pm
Kurt,
I’ve called him a false prophet. Even have started a web page proclaiming that:
http://dontdrinktheflavoraid.googlepages.com/fprw
And I’m not whistling past the graveyard. He’s proven to be false. If he prophesied that the sun would come up tomorrow morning, then I’d be worried because with his track record it might not.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
There is no doubt this will be a big day for Ron, and an even bigger day for those who expect big things from him. Big gains or big losses either way for Ron. Ron painted himself into this corner, and for most, like the ticking clock says, its show time.
Any false prophet votes when the voting counts?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Ekimks;
Are you the first here and now, at this late hour, willing to be the first to proclaim Ron false? No one else is stepping up, think about Gods end time witness’s wrath. Perhaps you may wish to consult a lawyer. This is your soul for goodness sake.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
We have all spoke ill of Ron. All of us. Who dares speak now, with the clock winding down?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
2 days left guys lets not start distorting again. God isn’t causing the destruction he’s allowing us to venture dangerously close to our own demise. The natural disasters are signs for the church (those with true faith). And Jon mentioned earlier something about God killing innocent people. I don’t recall ever reading that part of the bible. It seems as if you’re debating against your own view of God and your own understanding of the bible.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
No, I’m hardly the first. Even Bob Thiel, who is about as far from an atheistic HWA-hater as you can get has called Weinland a false prophet.
http://www.cogwriter.com/news/cog-news/ronald-weinland-false-prophet-by-mid-june/
And Kurt, what say you. How much courage would it take for you to declare Weinland a false prophet?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
Kurt, you are tripping! The only reason why I started posting on this site is that I have family bamboozled by Ronald Weinland. RW is a fake, fraud, conman, asshole, shithead, shall I go on? I fear for my family members who are brainwashed by this snake oil salesman. RW is not only FALSE, he’s a psychopathic criminal. Is that strong enough for you Kurt?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
Jack, gonna vote for Ron Paul. Hey, I like your enthusiasm. Look’s like your drunk. Like that too. Need that now and then.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
HE IS FALSE, Kurt… Very very very false. I’m only sorry that you have taken this long to come to that conclusion on your own. But the good news is you only have a couple more days…
April 15th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
waytenceewatch- what are you going to do if the 17th passes - sunrise/sunset like every other day? How long you gonna wait-n-see before you say….false prophet?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Ekmiks;
Thats just it, I ain’t got the balls to declare Ron false. I’m gonna sit on the fence.
So, I guess nobody else will say he is false. For whatever tripping reason. Thats cool. Just thought I’d ask. Don’t mind the fly on the wall…
April 15th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
Katie,
Came to that conclusion long time ago. Just scared to proclaim it on the eve of the prophet getting his powers so as not to get struck down.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Marie, I think you are right. A long post is coming. there’s going to be a lot of “this doesn’t mean that, and History doesn’t record this”.
I believe that John thought the end times were near. He was writing the introduction to the scroll of revelation. If it is addressing God, then God is not bound by time and to God it would be a short time.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Katie;
Your an agnostic or something or other now and wouldn’t understand this powers of an end time prophet that is scaring everyone else, so you don’t count.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
I declare Ron FALSE too, and I am not afraid of his rath! As God is my witness.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
Don’t take me serious anyone
April 15th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Or do, and proclaim him false if you dare.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Pastor P - so you are saying that John was addressing God when he wrote the introduction to Revelation?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
If we are picking last songs for the last couple of nights on earth - I choose “Stairway to Heaven”….yeah baby!
April 15th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
no, I was saying that it could be that God was addressing John,
April 15th, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Pastor - Okay. Got what you mean…
April 15th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
This might be more appropriate than “Stairway to Heaven”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erJc4dzZ3IA
April 15th, 2008 at 8:58 pm
I will dare SPEAK Kurt.
Did anyone happen to take their eyes off this blog long enough to notice that pretty big FIRE has started in Colorado?
April 15th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
Ekminks - That will work!
April 15th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
And this means we are safe? … and that God didn’t know it was going to happen? And isn’t planning on stopping it before it does?
April 15th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Kurt:
Perhaps if you had something more thought-provoking to say it would take more than a few disjointed paragraphs to do so. Until then, either skip the longer threads or keep your dislike of them to yourself.
Jack:
I suggest you seek therapy, along with a new keyboard that doesn’t have the caps lock key stuck on old, spilled soda pop.
Your antiquated rhetoric is surly that of a troll. Let’s hope Ironwolf feels the same.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Todaysfate - I did see that about the Colorado wildfire. Did you see the news about the cougar in Chicago? And Madonna’s husband went on the cookie diet and didn’t want to have sex with her anymore. The world is upside down with news today…..
April 15th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
TF,
Here we go…
It’s the end of everything man. A fire in Colorado.
That never happens.
And Tiger Woods had knee surgery, too.
And there was a kitten stuck in a tree outside my house…
April 15th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
Robert D
Hmmm… I was actually just trying to make a sarcastic responce to your sarcastic comments … but you bring up a good point.
See … I believe in God … you apparently do not. Understanding that from Gods point of view … death is only temporary. … But interrestingly enough … we all die. Whether it be from cancer, old age, a plane crash, or a nuclear bomb. What is the difference? At the end of time … we are in Heaven.
I also have faith that “revalations” is real… whether or not it happens today … or tomorrow … or in 350 years. It it WILL happen and Christ will return.
But the bottom line is this … if I am willing to die to save my children … or a soldier is vuluntarily willing to die to save an ideal … then it might be possible that I should be ok with dying in order to SAVE YOU.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
And I will say again ….
I don’t think there is anything “frightening” about the idea of heaven on earth. Its not an idea that Ron W started.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Kurt, I am hurt that you would say that I do not count! That was mean. Anyway, I am not agnostic at all at this point. I’m just leaving my church that thinks that scaring people into loving God is the best way to salvation. I no longer think so. And I’m questioning a lot of things. Isn’t this a quite healthy thing to do at times in your life? Maybe you should try it sometime.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Katie - I would not hold it against Kurt - I think he is well into his cups for this evening….
April 15th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
Katie
People choose to be “scared” whe confronted with end time prophesy …. this is why most mainstream churches don’t go there … not a very good subject when introducing someone new to the grace of God.
Unfortunately … there is a negative side effect. Believers in Christ tend to dismiss even the remote idea that its going to happen based on false alarms.
Even when the boy cried wolf … over and over again … it eventually did come.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Todaysfate - Katie is talking about the ’scare the hell’ (literally) out of you that some denominations focus on - they don’t have to go to the end time “doctrines” for that….they believe that if you don’t accept Christ now you are going to hell when you die. Chances are, most of us will die from either an illness or accident - before the end of the world happens - they scare people with the “you are going to hell if you don’t believe” doctrine. I agree with Katie - it is not the right motivation to find the love of God. What’s up with that? Love God or get smashed or go to ever burning hell? Oh yeah, I can see that God can tell I love Him with my whole heart based on that criteria…
April 15th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Can’t argue with you there Marie.
April 15th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
To Kurt and TodaysFate and any fence-sitters on whether or not Weinland is a false prophet:
In Weinland’s 2008 GFW page 111 (now there’s a significant number) he says:
“All Seven Thunders are given as God’s proof that I am His end-time prophet.
And on pages 115-116:
“During the Sixth Seal, all Seven Thunders will be getting progressively louder. Before the Seventh (and final) Seal is opened, the Seven Thunders will become so pronounced that the validity of everything written about them in the previous chapter should roar loudly in the ears of anyone who is willing to admit the truth. But even then, many still will prefer to believe a lie! They still will prefer to be falsely soothed by denying reality and the truth.”
Explain why you think that each and every one of his seven thunders sounded, and sounded loudly.
April 15th, 2008 at 11:32 pm
Jack’s going to take a time out now. Don’t expect any “Pope updates” from him any time soon.
April 15th, 2008 at 11:34 pm
Kurt,
I’m as sure that Weinland is false as I am sure that Evolution is true. That sure enough for you?
April 15th, 2008 at 11:45 pm
Ekimks,
Oh yes … the book … if you read the book very carefully… it seems to me that he says the “thunders” so to speak have been going on for all time … and are only going to be getting “louder”.
Well… here we go.
1. The beginning of the “end time” war.
My take: Almost everyone can agree that if there is a World War Three … that it basically started when the U.S.A. invaded Iraq against the will of basically the rest of the world.
Go here for information on this…. http://www.threeworldwars.com/intro.htm
You will find no “religion” here…. just “rumors of wars”.
2. Increasing destruction generated by earthquakes.
My take: Go here
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/regional/world/historical.php
Strictly looking at 6.0 and above since our ability to detect and track smaller ones have only improved greatly over recent years. IE: the destructive ones … you be the judge on if there has been an increase.
3. Growing destructiveness from weather.
My take: Look no further than global warming. We are JUST getting started. But … yes … even something as mundane and boring as temperature is “weather” and you tell me if you have ever seen Greenland melt before?
4. Global economic upheaval…
My take: Five years ago no-one would have even conceived that there would be a “mortgage” crisis on the level it is today. No-one probably ever thought that India and China would boom like they are … buying up all of the steel, lumber, and now food of the world. Who would have seen the Dollar falling below the Euro? It’s ALL out of the ordinary. I mean … who ever heard of banks blacklisting entire states from getting financing before now? (NV). And it’s affecting everything from homelessness, to divorce rates, to the price of MILK … and we have the majority the “foreclosures” yet to come.
5. Death
My Take: Well that is the big one isn’t it? Death is guaranteed, happens all of the time … and so it’s hard to see an increase in notables. Although … allot of notable people in the world are simply OLD and at the end of their lives. Ron W … NOR the bible says that people would start dying due to unusual circumstances. Personally … I thought something was up when Hope, Sinatra, and Carson kicked it.
6. Growing revelation of the end time witness.
My Take: Witness or FALSE witness … same thing in my book. April 17th? Personally… I have never blogged so much about anything before in my life … except maybe the placement of Johnny Depp inside Disneyland’s Pirates ride … but that is another story. I would say this is “growing”.
7. Accelerated Revelation of God to man….
My take: Christianity has always been about the message … not the messenger. Chew on that one. The POPE will speak to millions in 5 days. It will be broadcast to the same far corners of the world that the Super Bowl does. This BLOG and others like it help.
So … any “doubts” I have about Ron W do not come from his “predictions” themselves….. nor from a select group of disgruntled ex-COG members with a grudge. My doubts come from his behavior alone … which I feel will change drasticly as he proves anything at all. Every post I have put down here has been in an attempt explain why I feel that way.
Sorry for the long post … but someone asked.
April 16th, 2008 at 12:33 am
We’ve covered this before.
And btw — the seals in Revelation were witnessed by the entire world. They were certainly not subject to debate nor something that the writer implied could be missed. Hell, even most Christians are not talking this smack.
Anyway…
1. There is not a WWIII. My goodness man. Chimpy made some rhetorical comment in 2007 saying “if you want WWIII, let Iran make the bomb.” Well, they did not, there is not, and this “war” has been nothing less than a shitty Vietnam for the past six years. Even Bush is finally talking exit strategy. What a coward.
2. I’ve already posted the deal on earthquakes — nothing at all out of the ordinary, and the link you provided shows no difference. Just get out a calculator and to the math.
3. Unless you’re referring to Global Warming, and entirely (or mostly) man-made disaster, weather is no different either — up and down, up and down. You DO realize that shit like the Black Plague and WWII made for MUCH more compelling “Revelation” evidence, right? Right?
4. It’s obvious you’ve never had an economics class. The world is not in “upheaval”, despite the current US recession. All recessions are followed by spurts in the economy. It’s part of the natural cycle.
5. This one is just too stupid to address.
6. False. See the link already posted a number of times re: history of false prophets. This decade is nothing compared to what’s happened in history.
7. Conjecture and more hooey.
Here’s an assignment: find a period in history where you could not dream up 7 other tragedies of biblical proportions. When you find it, let me know. I’ll dig 7 up for you that are equally “valid” as these.
The only threat this world faces that is relatively new is GW and a possibility of continued terrorist activities. GW is a serious problem, for sure — but hardly apocalyptic, unless you just REALLY want that square peg in that round hole. As for the other, the A bomb on Japan was ’slightly’ more alarming to EOTW types.
And, still…nothing.
April 16th, 2008 at 12:36 am
Hey Pastor,
I’m hitting the sack. Your Daniel/Revelation stuff will take some time to respond to and I’d like to do it justice. I’ll probably put it on the flood blog, but post a link here. i think you’ll see where the Daniel stuff falls short. I’ll also elaborate on the Greek/Revelation bit, which I botched in my previous post. : )
Thanks…Jon
P.S. This of course assumes the end of the world does not begin on Thursday. If it does…well, I’ll concede. :: )
April 16th, 2008 at 12:38 am
Few quick words:
Jon — your track record was impeccable until now. What version of the Bible do you have? In every one I’ve checked Revelation 9:16
says 200 1000 1000 (=200 000 000 or 200 million). You can say that’s a metaphor, but it’s still a specific number, and a hard one to reach even for China in modern times.
Either John was speaking of a distant time when the earth was far more populated, was speaking metaphorically (like a lot times a lot times 200), or found the wild psychedelic fungi that grow on Patmos. They’re hard to write on though
Bye JACK (off). Enjoy your next election. Hopefully the Republicans don’t resort to rigging it this year.
And Marie — Ron and Brittney. You are sick sick sick… (heh)
April 16th, 2008 at 1:19 am
If anyone is interested, here’s a documentary about my pre-Ron “religion” (or at least means of communicating with God).
Something you can’t understand until you experience it. Clearly satanic, but what a fantastic time.
Yup, totally evil and idolatrous, along with Burning Man and Shambhala, this is the most fun you can have with illegal narcotics and your clothes off.
Love and Freedom are clearly evil and must be stopped. Vote McCain.
April 16th, 2008 at 2:10 am
Greetings to everyone:
Ive been reading this blog now for a few days, but only got up to Part 3 as of yet. However, as time may be running out where Internet access in North America will no longer be availble, I felt a need to jump ahead and express myself due to my human nature.
First a brief background. I am 40 years old, have been steadily employed since 15, and never held any strong personal religious beliefs apart from an inexplicable feeling that God is real. I come from an average, loving Canadian family, and am the youngest and only boy of 5 children. At the age of 11, due to what I can only account for as an “emotional disorder”rooted in selfishness, self-centeredness, and self-seeking, I began what would become 28 years of alcohol and drug abuse. The last 17 of them being primarily hardcore use of crack cocaine. I of course, like any “good addict” had a million excuses to justify and rationalize my insanity. I have been clean since December 22/2006. The reason I include this brief history is to clarify how I came to quite fully believe in God.
Two things have happened in my life that erased any doubts I may have had at various times. The first being that I was run over when I was 1 1/2 years old, resulting in having my head crushed as well as an extensive part of the left side of my upper body. The doctors gave me slim odds of even living for 72 more hours…yet here I am today in quite frankly fairly good physical and mental shape. The second thing was the instant removal of the obsession to use after I got on my knees in tears while waiting for the dope to arrive on Dec.24/06, and I can only assume approached God in the proper humble manner of heart and spirit, to please take this insanity away from me. I have not even had anything close to a serious struggle since. On top of that, my thoughts, actions, and character have been changing steadily since that time, from one of selfishness to growing selflessness. Anyways, I could go on a long time about this, but lets get to the topic at hand.
I only began to read the Bible recently, and have certainly learned much about interpreting Scripture by reading this blog, but do not have any “educated” opinions of my own. Through my experience however, I have found that living by principles found in the 10 Commandments and the Bible in general, which one could call Gods way, has had a dramatic effect on my emotional stability and sense of self-worth. I have in essence been actively seeking the “truth” in a form that I would be able to understand. Ive come to the opinion at this time that I am not even humanly capable of understanding or comprehending a being such as God. I feel that would be rather arrogant on my part. I understand this as humility. Even with Gods inspiration, I think it would not possible on a physical human level. However, I have another inexplicable feeling, that on a spiritual level which again I am not really able to comprehend, it would become possible.
However, to move on to Ronald Weinland, I agree with him fully on at least one point; this is one sick world. It is propelled forward by the lust for money and power, while turning a blind eye to oppression and hatred. Unless it affects us directly, for the most part we do nothing about it. Sure we give to charities and causes, but again for the most part it is to quiet our own guilty conscience. I am as guilty as the next person, and probably more so than
some. I truly believe I have been doing my best to repent of my ways for awhile now and making continued progress, but it is painfully slow. My motivation seems to be a growing love for God, rather than one of prideful triumph over my human nature of self-centeredness. As for believing RW as were refering to him here, I find that I lean to disbelief simply because he is a man who suffers from human nature as does everyone else.
I trust only God, and would be happy to see Jesus Christ return to rule Earth in a new age of peace and harmony, but am horrified at the thought the things RW says will take place in order to humble mankind. Even with the hope of ressurection into this new world, the death of billions, most sadly the children, just doesnt “feel” like God to me.
I have read RWs books, and have listened to his sermons. I have even contacted the PKG regarding baptism and have gotten the impression that without tithing I am not worth their time. Perhaps this is only because I dont have Gods spirit in me that I see it this way, or that God hasnt “called” me according to them. Just speculation on my part, as I really dont know anything. I am at this point simply resign myself to the opinion that whatever comes to pass can only ultimately end up as good, because everything from God is good. Whether it be a new world that I dont think any of us can really truly comprehend because we have never experienced it, or we go on and have a continued opportunity to spiritually wake up and make a difference and begin to effect a real change in our relationship as species rather than continue dividing ourselves into opposing nations, governments, and religions which has only continued to produce hatred, oppression, confusion, and chaos.
May God have mercy and continue to love and bless us all……
April 16th, 2008 at 2:30 am
Let’s keep an eye on the Pope….according to RW, these two are going to become well acquainted…and very soon.
April 16th, 2008 at 4:56 am
Concerning the thunders, I’m sure the economy goes up and down, and that is normal. But have we ever been this deeply in debt?

April 16th, 2008 at 5:05 am
Then there is this food shortage thing. Food riots, the specter of famine- death on a wide scale. The famines in the past were always localized, not a global thing. That makes me nervous.

April 16th, 2008 at 5:26 am
Then there is the war. We are using depleted uranium. Google depleted uranium.
So what makes this illegitimate war different from past wars is that it is a low level nuclear war. Unlike atom bombs dropped on Japan, radiation from depleted uranium will be with us for billions of years.
Not sure if this is a thunder or not, but it adds to my general unease of the times we are living in.
April 16th, 2008 at 5:28 am
Kurt:
Did ALL the thunders “roar loudly in your ears”? Did ALL of them increase in magnitude between 2006 when he published his latest book and the opening of the 7th seal on March 18? Your response to my question did not indicate that you believed there was a noticeable increase in the thunders.
Since Ron Weinland has already been proven to be a false prophet, why are you still considering him?
April 16th, 2008 at 5:56 am
Good riddance to Jack/Steve/Anonymous.
I have a request: Anyone have the exact timestamp where the Pope is mentioned? It’s in the chat transcript, and the time-stamp I plugged in there was 39min, but I’ve tried five minutes on either side, on both files I received (mp3 and WMA.) and I can’t get an exact timestamp or a verbatim quote for “Starting on April 17th when the Pope is in Washington DC because that’s when he begins to be influenced very powerfully.”
Anyone got the exact timestamp on either file? Because he did name the Pope specifically, I remember hearing that (and typed it as I heard it), and the chat transcript reflects others heard it as well.
Thanks. Oh and by the way, look to the blog for a list of videos to entertain demons by on this, the last day before the first trumpet!
April 16th, 2008 at 6:03 am
Never mind got the timestamp. Any other video requests?
April 16th, 2008 at 6:23 am
37:25 - 37:40 RW April 12 Sermon “God’s Love is Coming” “And the one he’s [Satan] going to start influencing in a very powerful way. Starting on April the 17th when the Pope is in Washington DC because that’s when it begins. And that’s when he begins to be influenced highly.”
Not much wiggle room there Weinland. Going back through the sermon though, I notice in the announcements portion Weinland did sort of hem and haw that he wasn’t sure he was going to be able to get the first day of unleavened bread services up on the site. Because of what’s supposed to happen? Because he’s planning on disappearing into the woodwork?
Only time will tell. And Weinland’s has long since run out.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:42 am
WW - How will we tell that the Pope is being influenced? Will he start to twitch and his head turn around backward?? (Just kidding) Really, did RW say in ANY sermon anything specific about what the Pope might be saying or doing to make us know that there is this powerful influence? I haven’t went through all of his sermons, my stomach won’t allow - and it seems as if what I have heard him say is very vague.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:58 am
I just listened to the Mike McConnell show again. Weinland says at first the sounding of the first trumpet is going to be blamed on global warming!! The Pope’s speech is going to be blamed on global warming? You don’t say Ronnie…….
April 16th, 2008 at 7:19 am
For Marie:
“In just a few days, or weeks here now, Satan is not going have any of that power [to pull people towards protestantism]. And, quite candidly, he shifts his attention to another person on this earth. To a great religious leader. And it will happen. When he’s here in the United States. That’s what I’ve been referring to. That great religious leader is coming here to the United States. And at that day, and at that time, when all this begins, is a very time when he [Satan] has power to influence, very powerfully so, that individual. Very powerfully so.”
RW sermon, “45 Days to the 7th Seal” (sorry I don’t have the timestamp, but this is from the edited version on the CoG-PKG’s own site.)
April 16th, 2008 at 7:20 am
Until the athiest on Youtube, I didn’t realize that Herbert Armstrong’s son was Garner Ted….who ended up living/preaching/dying in my home town in Texas. Small world. He had his own problems…
April 16th, 2008 at 7:25 am
Hey, I just wanted to let you all know what exactly one of my church’s pastors said to me when I told him why I was leaving our church yesterday. Our senior pastor, I was told, couldn’t be contacted and he ususally doesn’t handle these types of issues. Our accosicate pastor was out of the office for the day — so granted, I was talking to the family pastor.
I told Pastor Ron (ironic, isn’t it?) that I couldn’t tell if my own motivation for following Jesus is out of love for Him or fear of hell. I told him that the only thing I could think to do was to protect my children from that type of fear so that they could more easily realize why they choose or choose not to follow God. I, of course, was sobbing as I told him all of this. I told him some very personal stories and just poured my heart and fears out to him. He said, “Isn’t it ironic that the very thing you are trying to avoid (hell) is the very place that you and your children will end up for this?” People, I cannot make this stuff up. There is one side of me that is very happy with what happened as it is making our decision to leave the church pretty easy. I am anxiously to see if any of my other pastor’s call us today. We have served in that church for years. So sad…
Wonder if Ron W goes after the 1 lost sheep? I’m thinking he hangs with the 99 paying sheep personally. : )
April 16th, 2008 at 7:36 am
Good for you Katie…the pastor’s words to you are proof that you did the right thing. There are denominations that do not take this path that would welcome you with open arms, if you choose to go that route at some point. I know mine would.
April 16th, 2008 at 7:37 am
Good morning all:
I’d like to thank you Ironwolf for this blog. Up until I stumbled across it I was beginning to think no one has even heard of RW, much less have any intelligent conversation going on. There is no one in my area that has even heard of him that I am aware of, and I live in a very populated city.
I must say I’m sure glad to be going to work today….I’ll tune later.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:00 am
Hi Everyone,
Does Ronnie have a myspace? Because it looks like he has one here:
myspace.com/ronaldweinland
Real Or Fake?
April 16th, 2008 at 8:07 am
C Speight
I’m going to let you try and figure that one out on your own using your powers of deductive resoning. : ) Read a bit on the myspace page. Shouldn’t take too long.
PS. Ron friended me and is actually praying that God open my eyes and blesses this dear sister. During his sermon last week, he was actually logged onto myspace. But since he is, according to Kurk, God’s final witness, perhaps he has been granted the power to preach to the masses while surfing the net.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:07 am
Wow Katie, your pastor sounds like he would fit right in with Weinland’s gang of elders.
Anyway looks like it’s going to be a boring Wednesday/Thursday all in all. Beautiful weather in some places, sucky weather in others. Although I have that REM song stuck on permanent loop in my head right now.
Oh and before I forget: I called Weinland as false back around March 22 when the seventh seal amounted to nothing. And I’m still standing. And will be, long after this day and the next are out.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:09 am
and now look.. since i called ron a false prophet, he has cursed me with bad grammar!!!!! DARN YOU, RON!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh the horror!
April 16th, 2008 at 8:15 am
Thanks WW - I just listened to a live stream of the Pope’s message at the White House. There was nothing “eye brow” raising in his speech. I didn’t expect there to be. Talking about freedom, high ideals of American thought and practise, he is glad to be here….No fire and brimstone. No pointing into the direction of protestantism. The Pope did say that American’s embrace religious freedom in such a way that many people of many faiths may practise their religions here in peace. That’s my Pope report. Not anything surprising and with great power. Today is the Pope’s birthday - he is 81.
Katie - you’re not going to hell because you decided not to go to the Baptist church…oh man….that Pastor you talked to must have read some of Armstrong’s books. Geeeeee! There are many church groups that would welcome you with open arms, questions and doubts included and not put pressure on you to believe or burn… Keep your chin up girl! God will see you through.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:34 am
To “ByGraceIAM” - I am an exWCG member & recovering alcoholic with 10+ years of sobriety - Just a suggestion - Think about not defining/limiting God as the religions of the world define/limit God - My own understanding of God is that I don’t understand God & that is acceptance for me - God just is.
To All - What I heard about the Pope was that the “event” was going to take place as he was at Ground Zero in NY - (not sure what day he plans to be there)
Question to ponder - Why isn’t the #2 witness being announced until 2 days after RW #1 witness comes forth on Apr 17/08 - This doesn’t add up either -Of course RW has changed his story a couple of times re: announcing of #2 witness.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:02 am
It is April 17 now in the far east.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:05 am
Lest anyone forget, RW has also changed his story repeatedly on his own prophecies. Thus, “the world will be shocked and in horror on the day the seventh seal is opened” [pp. 23, 2008 God’s Final Witness] became “Did I say anything was going to happen on the 18th? It’s a spiritual thing. I thought I made that abundantly clear.” 1:09:55 - 1:10:04 RW March 22 sermon.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:08 am
4/17/08 in Australia too now.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:09 am
pluggedin Says:
April 16th, 2008 at 9:02 am
“It is April 17 now in the far east.”
Anyone feeling a little crispy yet? Mike? Robert? Jon? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?
Come on Ronnie smile for the cameras, these demons you are supposed to be entertaining are getting bored!
April 16th, 2008 at 9:18 am
WW said:
Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?
LMAO!!!!
April 16th, 2008 at 9:22 am
Katie,
Holy shit! And I mean that literally. Reminds me of the time when I had a quite cordial conversation with a “church planter” minister who happened to be slumming at my gym, and our talk ended with him stating in an off-handed way that he was sorry that my kids had me for a dad— simply because I was an atheist.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:34 am
Jon,
I read your post way up there about the book of revelation. I respect your view of the Bible, but like I said, many people interpret the Bible differently, so I guess there is no point continuing that discussion. Which specialization did you take? My young pastor took a master thesis in old testament or something.
Tomorrow is the D-day. Something physical has to take place because Weinland clearly said there will be a “significant physical event happening on US soil on April 17.” So he can’t really say “I thought I made it clear that it’s spiritual?” And significant is not just wild fire on California forests or something like we always have every year. I set “significant” as more shocking than Hurricane Katrina and 9/11. So don’t forget to watch your TV and internet… that is if the soil has not been attacked like Weinland described.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:38 am
Anybody spot Weinie at the Western Wall yet? Looks like the sun’s almost down over there……
April 16th, 2008 at 9:41 am
LOL somebody just coughed over the video feed! Witness is that you??
April 16th, 2008 at 9:45 am
He made a statement in US. so i’d go with april 17 US time instead of eastern time. So it’s still tomorrow.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:49 am
If it’s all spiritual and that, how does Ron know when his Jerusalem mission is complete and it’s time for him to return to the U.S.? Assuming he does at all. Is there one of those red things, like in turkeys, gonna shoot up out of the earth someplace to let everyone know it’s done?
Can we say “No! No, your Jerusalem mission is supposed to increase over time! You get back over there until it does.”?
I expect that tomorrow when RW gets his concentrated mojo (and our shoes begin to increase) he will have all the answers. ALL of them. The word ‘perhaps’ should fall out of his vocabulary.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:52 am
I suppose his speech at the Western Wall will start tomorrow, and increase over the next few weeks to months time.
April 16th, 2008 at 10:00 am
45 to 90 days. Powerfully so, Brethren. Amazing!
April 16th, 2008 at 10:03 am
Yes! Absolutely! Or six to twelve months time, since “it is not known how long this will take to be completed”, according to Australian evangelist Wayne Matthews.
Speaking of which, I wonder what Matthews is doing right now?
Oh! And don’t forget! A documentary crew is supposed to be filming Weinland while he’s over there! ROFL I bet they’re getting some good footage right about now…………
RW: “There! There! Did you hear that? Tell me you didn’t hear THAT.”
Documentary Crew: “Hear what?”
RW: “God has clearly not opened your mind.”
April 16th, 2008 at 10:07 am
Very funny comment about the popes head turning backwards by marie, that would be funny hahaha. By the way I think ronald is telling the truth, he sounds a lot more genuine than most of you on here which is quite ironic when you are trying to point out that he isnt.
April 16th, 2008 at 10:08 am
When were all of these “splintered church” leaders supposed to keel over?
April 16th, 2008 at 10:11 am
All,
So, there’s now less than 24 hours (in some parts of the globe) until Ronzilla is unleashed on an unsuspecting world. On the other hand, he could drag this out for another 45-90 days, or even longer. And over the past weeks I’ve watched as this thread has become more and more popular (over 500 unique visitors daily now) and thought about what to do next. On one hand, keeping up with reading the Weinland thread and moderating it to keep it reasonably on topic takes a lot of time. Plus, though blogging software like Wordpress is great, it was never designed to handle long, divergent, open-ended conversations.
On the other hand, I’ve unexpectedly seen a community of diverse and intelligent people come together— many of whom seem to appreciate this place, and some who are even transforming their lives in light of the open dialog here.
So, I can’t keep the conversation going just as it is indefinitely, and I don’t want to simply shut it down. Instead, I’ve decided to implement better technology and make the conversation even more open and diverse.
Click here to visit the newly-opened Ironwolf Forum!
I think this move will have many advantages:
• Interested people can discuss a wide range of topics in which I, your humble moderator, also share an interest. Believe it or not, my life is much bigger than Weinland.
• That said, Weinland has his own sub-board which can accommodate as many topic threads as members want to start. Click here to visit the Weinland board.
• The forum software is much better at handling long, open-ended threads.
• Members can start their own polls. (I already have the first poll going in the Weinland board.)
• I will ask some people I trust to share moderation privileges, easing my burden.
• Anyone can read anonymously, but I the forum requires an e-mail verified membership to post. This should make it easier to keep the trolls at bay.
• Within the broad topics of interest, members will be able to start topic threads on any particulars that interest them.
• The topics are paged, so no more huge waits for hundreds of comments to load before you can leave your own.
• I will be making enhancements to the forum to support Wikipedia and Biblical references similar to what we have here, and other exciting features as well.
• In general, the community can grow much larger, and (hopefully) positively affect even more people.
To sign up, visit the Register link near the top of the page, or just click here to visit it directly. If you have any trouble signing up for the forum, please e-mail me at ironwolf@dangerousgames.com . Once you’re signed up, you should read the Forum Help and the Forum Info & Announcements board, and ask questions about the fine points of membership in the Forum Help board.
I realize that many people here have never dealt with blogs before, much less web forums. It’s really not hard, and I want to make it easy and fun for you to participate. So don’t hesitate to e-mail me with questions.
It’s the end of this thread as we know it… and I feel fine.
