Interesting. Dr. Beckford is an interesting character. It’s hard to believe that he starts the program in a church, with the proclamation that had it not been for his religious indoctrination as a child (ironically, while listening to his mother wax on about Jonah, a horrid story of God’s character) he would have “pursued a doctorate in drug-dealing or fathering illegitimate children.” (Paraphrased, but close.)
Surly a man who came to this conclusion - that this is a mythical book - could see that a mother who merely instructed him in the ways of civilized morality, a sane upbringing would be the result.
He implies, perhaps, that it was the punishment of religion that kept him on the straight and narrow.
Of course, most of those in prison are Christians, so I suppose that logic falls apart on many levels.

Double extra DRAT! I have tried to watch this video five times. Even went to Google…
I never get past the run-down synagog. I am dying to see the rest of this!

I think I found a version of the video that should give you less trouble, although it looks a bit squished.
