Could it be that our problem in understanding BORN stems from an attempt to read more into the text than is really there.

Kimmie,

I grew up with much the same beliefs as you are stating. I hoped forlornly that I would be one of the saved. Then I started to read the bible more carefully and realized the promises of answered prayer were really just empty promises. The bible makes it clear that your prayers will be answered if you believe. That’s all it takes and the bible is very clear on that. I certainly believed yet my prayers weren’t answered. Thus started the process where I lost my faith in faith.

I strongly urge you to consider qualified professional psychological counseling. It changed my life for the better and I’m finally happy and live a life that contributes to my family’s happiness and the betterment of the family and the community I live in.

I hate to break it to you, but in my last comment I was being sarcastic. I actually think you’re quite ignorant and misled, and was trying to say so in a humorous way. It’s too bad that was lost on you. What you’ve said that’s on-topic is pretty much just a statement of your faith. Fortunately, as another citizen of this free country I don’t need to abide by your faith, and I don’t condone laws (such as those saying Gays can’t marry) that actually don’t mitigate any harm. I hope that after May 21, 2011 passes uneventfully you’ll reconsider your faith. For now, any further off-topic comments will be removed.

It’s a real story to share this. When I was a child during my days this woman said to me that God is not going to save everybody and I listen to her of what she said. I grew up in church and I loved Sunday School going because they taught us about Christ coming the second time. So I read the bible as a child but I still did’nt understand it. I believed it so much. I believed in hell but during that time I never heard that hell was a place where the unsaved burn forevermore. Until the 1990’s I heard so much in the church so I believed then when they were telling people you’re going to hell and burn and of course I was scared. I did’nt know any better. So my Aunt told me to read this book A divine Revelation of Hell and I read it so I was very scared that I stop one day not to read it but then I picked it back up and read the whole book. I heard a co-worker told me be careful of what you’re reading. Then I found out from this teacher who told people that hell is a place not where a person is going to burn. Hell is the grave where a person is buried so I looked it up in the bible and I read it. That is when Jesus said I will not leave my soul in hell (grave) now I understand it. I was shock. Then I threw the book away because that author had told lies. My mother believe hell is a place so she don’t believe anything I say what the bible says. She is in the church and that is why. I remember when I used to go to church this man who was a teacher in the church spoke about these doctrines so he spoke the truth I think that my pastor told the man to leave. I did’nt see him anymore. The churches are teaching lies now. Satan is in the church when the tribulation begin. God place Satan in the congregation I found scriptures of that. That means all churches. All these sins in the churches going on. The spiritual love in the churches are gone. I wished that all churches searched the truth but it won’t happen for sure. Since the 6 seals are open the 7 one will be the gospel is finished on that day May21,2011.

Thank you. There is one thing that I must say. I don’t know for sure if God has chosen me all I’m doing is pleading because of his mercy that there is still hope all until May21,2011. God recorded so much info in the bible that some people did’nt search the scripture correctly. I’m not smarter than nobody so who am I. I can be helpful kind or whatever I’m still a nobody and that is the truth.
I’m not trying judge nobody as I say sin is sin. There is no greater sin or bigger sin it’s still sin in the eyes of God that he hates. When I say that I’m talking about all sin. You see I look at myself everyday in the mirror and I have to take a look at myself so I see some things that I don’t like about myself. I have to look at me.

Thanks, Kimmie. You’ve definitely shown yourself to be a shining example of Christian education, and the sort of intelligent debate that Bible adherence produces. Best of luck with that 2011 thing.
