I was 14 when my mother joined the WWCG, then it was called the Radio Church of God. I was baptised at age 19, married at 21 to another WWCG member. We attended the Harrisburg PA church. We left in the early 1970’s when the Baltimore area split away from the main church.

I was still religious then, still believed that Saturday was the Sabbath, that Christmas and Easter were pagan, etc. It wasn’t until years later that I questioned the validity of the bible as a book written by a god. Quite clearly to me it was written by men with their own purposes in mind.

I was introduced to the book The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind in the middle 1980’s. It answered many questions about the concept of a god figure in human societies. There is too much material in it to cover here, but one of the main conclusions I have drawn from it is that god was fashioned in man’s image and not the other way around.

So began the atheist view, one I still hold. It appears there is no empirical evidence to prove that a god exists.

These are my views, not intended to sway anyone to my way of thinking. To believe in god or not is a personal choice, and the personal right of each individual.

Usually this time of year reminds me of my past association with the WWCG. Passover was very special to me at the time. The feelings linger.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts.

I would be happy to have them included on your site.

Sincerely,

Kay Dennis
