I wont give my background (bcoz its 2am and im abit tired and want to get to sleep.....I came acroos this website and your story by mistake, but im glad i did any way) I recently came across a branch of the WCG called the LCG (living church of God) and my story is the same as yours when you started reading their material.....being raised a christian i have the same bias you talk about and I'v tried to get rid of it so I can find out if what they say is true. I got these booklets from them "the real God:proofs and promises" and "the bible fact or fiction". I thought I should try to get rid of the bias and check all they had to say, but thats easier said than done. I really want to know the truth and since your story sounds so much like mine I wanted to ask if you could point me to some literature or something, or give advice ..... Id really appriciate it, coz at the moment my life is not on the exact track as yours was (when you were reading with your dad) its gone a bit haywire....ok a lot haywire.
