"All I am saying is that it might be beneficial to get in touch with Zahyit and get his input and review some of his literature." (Weinlandtranscripted)
I noticed that for the past two days my blog "Lift up your voice" at
http://innertech.wordpress.com has found the interest of many people coming in particular from this forum. So I decided to find out what all the noise was about.
But before I do anything I noticed several things that others have said that I said that I never said or wrote. Some are minor misunderstandings or misreadings, if there is such a thing.
One, I did not say that Jesus would "return on Pentecost." That is completely foreign to anything that I am teaching, is it not?
Two, I have no knowledge that Weinland has either purchased a copy of my book, or even looked at my blog. I do not get that kind of information from wordpress.com or from Amazon.
Besides, it would be far more significant if he came to understand these things apart from any influence from me, would it not?
Third, I checked all through my blog and comments, and my email and I could not find either a confirmation or a denial to this affect:
"
'Zahyit', according to a commenter on I Survived Armstrongism, is also an ex-member of the church (even though he denied it way back in February when someone posted the parallels between the two of them on the blog)."
If someone can find this, I would like to see it. One thing I did say was that
I never was a pastor of any church including WCG.A strange thing happened to me after I returned from a trip to Israel in 1983 where I became by default the principle speaker. I was asked by one of the pastors to come and speak at his church (not WCG) which I did. He asked me if I was ordained, to which I replied, "I never have been ordained by anyone." He called me to the front and ordained me in front of the people. This was an Assembly of God congregation. I never have been and am not now a member of the Assembly of God organization, in spite of the fact that I was ordained by them.
Now the last three posts made me wonder about some things:
Is it a good or bad thing to be an exWCG member? How would you know?
And what does it mean to be a "member?" If someone becomes an "ex-member" what does that mean? Is that like being an "ex-wife" or "ex-husband"? How is it good or bad to be an "ex-whatever?" Does that mean that both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were bad or good people for plotting to become "ex-British?"
What does it mean to "fully believe?" If you don't believe everything what say you "believe" does that make you a "partially full believer" or maybe a "partially empty believer?"
Is there something wrong with "prophecy" that no one should understand it?
Or if someone does understand prophecy, is there something wrong with that person?
If prophecy is not believed, does that mean that it is not the truth?
How would you know?
Does prophecy require your belief or knowledge for it to be fulfilled?
If you do or don't understand prophecy, does that mean there is something wrong with you?
How does a person "live by faith alone?" Does that mean that a person does not have any answers at all, or only a few answers? Where do you draw the line between having all the answers or only "enough" answers? When do reach a point where you have "enough" answers so that you qualify to be one "who lives by faith alone" or one who "fully believes?"
What does it mean to "need signs" of "prophetic events?" How would you know which signs are good signs and which are bad?
When does a sign become a "prophetic event?" When does a prophetic event become a "sign?"
Do only people who believe Scripture prophecy have "issues?" Does that mean that those who do not believe prophecy "do not have issues?"
What is the "reality?" How does one know when they either have or do not have the "reality?"
There are many things we believe for which we have little or no basis for that belief, aren't there?
