The bible makes it pretty clear to me that jesus promised answered prayer.  There are quite a few scriptures that state that prayers will be answered.  It is even stated the prayers will be answered so that god will be glorified.  I looked into the context of the verses and the best I could find was that you have to abide in jesus in order for this promise of answered prayer to be granted.

I can only relate my story, which is I spent  30 years abiding in jesus.  Preached his message to those who would listen, taught it to my children, prayed fervently and intently and in many different ways.  For me, no answered prayer.  My conclusion is that jesus lied.

Or that the book is simple a collection of parables, myths, and fables.

Try praying.

Statistically analyze prayer.

The rest of the site makes a lot of good points too I think.  Evil

As far as my personal understanding goes, my job is to guard His work and words, and to be an expert witness concerning the truth.

GADZOOKS!  Who does this person think they are?  Certainly sounds like an over inflated opinion of themselves.  Where is the humility, where is the humanity, where is the honesty?  Makes me want to barf!

It is all directly relatable back to Armstrongism. Hoover, Sakach, Weinland --- all lethal fruits, from the same poisoned tree.

Interesting reading there.  I discovered jesus didn't lie but that he is a "jerk".  The proof that described jesus as a jerk certainly pointed out some distinct contradictions in jesus' own words that i'd never seen before.

When i say "jesus lied", I mean it as a reflection on the bible, the contradictions and fables in the bible just don't add up, if you take the bible on face value and analyze what is said in there, you see the things about jesus either make jesus a liar or the bible untrustworthy.

I don't have a fixed opinion on whether there is a god or not, but if there is a god, the evidence is that such a god is NOTHING like the god of the bible.  And I say, thank God for that!

I am happy for christians to keep believing in their biblical christian god but if they want to have a debate with me about it, it has to start with them being honest about how much faith is required to believe in such a god.  Much more faith I'd say than most of them claim.

I've been saying that for YEARS and YEARS and YEARS. I've yet to have a true-believing Christian come with a rational, logical, explanation for the clear contradiction between the "Jebus is love and light" crap, and the story of the woman who has to admit to "the teacher" that she's a DOG, before he'll do anything for her, just because she isn't Jewish.

You wouldn't believe some of the mental contortions I've seen Christians pull, trying to get around that one. Roll Eyes

Amen to that! Grin There is a very cogent reason that the early Quakers called their Anglican contemporaries "people of the book".

Purplehymnal,
You utilized the word cogent.  That is only the second time I have seen it on this forum.  The reason I bring it up is because I was wondering if there was a correlation between the ability to do cross words and intelligence.  If there is, I am definately on the same wavelength as Forest Gump and realizing that scares me.  Maybe ignorance really is bliss though.  I'm not talking about those easy crosswords.  More like the ones in the local paper that I can only get like 7 or 8 on.  Do crosswords just require practice and memorization like those champion spelling bee wizards?  Thanks
Oh, still haven't seen any sixth seal stuff.  Winds 20 to 30 mph gusts here under partly to mostly sunny skies.

Ronald’s 50th Truth: There Is No Such Thing As Prophecy!

Put away your Crystal Ball, Tea Leaves, Ouija Board and Bible - in a stunning sermon RW clearly states that there is no method to predict future events.

RW claims that god states: “It’s not time till it’s time” for future events to be revealed to Humanity, thus nullifying the role of a prophet. RW discovered that prophecy was false when he attempted to use a form of Biblical Numerology to predict future events that failed miserably. RW portrays god as a whimsical being who could reveal the truth to his prophets if he wanted to, but instead god enjoys vexing his creations to such a degree that accurate prophecies are impossible.

Prophets have no room for error, what is divinely given to a prophet must come to pass, since this is the case there is no such thing as elasticity in biblical prophecy. RW declared himself god’s true prophet - what he predicted did not come to pass because god wasn’t ready to reveal the truth - therefore, invalidating the concept of prophecy due to god’s unpredictability.

RW clearly states: (paraphrasing) the angelic realm is listening to him because they do not know god’s plan, and demons are also listening to him because they are in the dark to what god is going to do next. But wait, RW clearly states that satan IS IN THE KNOW about what his fate is concerning god’s plan. Why is satan privy to such knowledge that god has withheld from the angelic realm, demons, and we Humans? Satan sure knows how to keep a secret - I think satan and god are good buddies: they both give half-truths, they both like to torment hapless Humans, and they need each other to fulfill some grand cosmic play.

Satan and god are collaborators in this grand scheme, in fact, RW states that the end-times is all about the judgment of satan - we humans are almost incidental in this drama. Satan knows (as per RW) what his role is in this saga, and he faithfully sticks to the script. I wonder if god and satan had a few dress rehearsals for their big climactic final scene (we wouldn‘t want god and satan to give a sub par performance).

We now know we do not have to fear satan because he is in collusion with god in this end time stuff.

Who do we need to fear: Goddamn RUDOLPH THE RED NOSE REINDEER THAT’S WHO!!!!!

Rudolph with that red nose - he’s probably an alcoholic and that is why his nose is so red.

And what about that F**KING FAT MAN FROM THE NORTH….THAT’S RIGHT - THE OBESE, GLUTTONOUS PIG CALLED SANTA CLAUS!!!!

How does that song go?

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!
O! You better watch out!
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

What an abomination! That Fat Bastard knows what I’m doing at all times….he must be like some perverted Peeping Tom….sick f**k that he is. GO ON A DIET SANTA!!!! YOU CANADIAN SCUMBAG!!!!

Well, that’s all for me. "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Maybe I should start that thread on teret syndrome.
Mr. Arkadin,
I truly feel for what you are going through.  It is my hope that your pain can be devoured by this forum and that your pain does not influence your thoughts so much that it prevents your superior intelligence from shining through when you are out and about or with loved ones.
Some of my posts in March make mention of how I think Santa treated RW when he was a child, you might get a kick out of them.
The sun will be setting soon, I won't hold my breath on the moon being a blood red.

Hi Michael,

I know I went off with the profanity, it was meant to be funny, but the anger comes blasting through.

I just can’t believe that anyone takes RW seriously, yet I have family members who follow him and give money to this nutcase.

When he started with the Rudolph stuff, it became simultaneously silly and insulting, such an obvious deflection from his destined to fail prophecies.

I’m disappointed that my family members cannot see this guy for what he is - a fake and a fraud.

It does make me angry.

And Weinland is also good at turning man against man.  Evil And man against God.  Evil All for the good of his profits.  Cool Some people crave ($$) for this type of anarchic religion/cult (if this hack-work can be called as such  Roll Eyes ) ...unfortunately.  Embarrassed

You are sealed and it's a joyful day in heaven. Oh wait, you aren't sealed yet.  Ok, you are sealed again.  Gotta be kind of anti climactic for the people that actually believe it.

I gotta tell you folks something - in spite of the total stupidity, lie-monger, evil, destructive a$$ Weinland really is - I have enjoyed so much reading all of the humor, the wit, intelligent and even the occasional irritating posts. If there is one good outcome, it has been connecting via this forum. We have to take some good out of the bad! I can only imagine things will be getting even crazier over the next few months with the ILFPRW (I think I got that right).  Grin

Definitely agree with Marie and Sunny!

For me it really started when we first started talking about services and doing the "fellowship loop" on the old IW thread, back when we were getting ready to "attend" ILFPRW's insane services via IRC...... Grin
