I'm sure Weinland is delighted over the recent economic down turn.  I fully expect to hear Saturday how he believes prophesy is being fulfilled.

What you're not actually still listening to the Insane Liar are you nsj? You have my full sympathies......  Shocked Shocked Shocked Here's hoping your family members will soon come around, or at least get a little less dogmatic, as Arkadin's seem to have...... Sad

We're here for you anyway, motley band of not-quite-insane ex-CoGers that we are.......I know that's pretty much cold comfort, but that's all I've got. Anyone else have any words of wisdom/encouragement for nsj? Sad

I probably don't qualify to be part of the "motley band of not-quite-insane ex-CoGers" because I don't have any direct experience of religious cults. However I have learnt a lot over the last seven months of reading all the ex-CoG forums and blogs. Empathy gets somewhat easier as time goes by. Also, while surfing around the Internet I have found a number of websites that have proved to contain a lot of helpful information. One example is the website of the Spotlight Ministries in the United Kingdom. I think that this page in particular will probably interest nsj -- if he/she hasn't seen it before :-
http://foresight-of-hindsight.blogspot.com/2008/08/have-they-been-recruited-by-cult_31.html
They show how to interact with cult victims, how to explain to them that you have serious concerns about the group, and how to present critical literature to them. (Amongst other things.)
Extract :-
"For example, explain to your friend that you have come across some literature which says some things which are causing you to have problems with the particular group which they are involved with. Ask them if they can help you with it and show you where the literature may possibly be wrong. If they still refuse at this point you can say to them that if they are not willing to look at the literature, then you are going to be left with the idea that the issues which the literature are bringing up must be true."
"Another approach is that of pitting one cult against another........."

Paragraph headings include: "I am Positive that it is a Cult. What do I do Now?", "Use Critical Literature Effectively", "Having the Right Attitude is Vital", and even: "What to do When the Person Leaves the Cult".  Smiley  Experience apparently shows that people eventually do leave cults -- like Mr Arkadin's family members, and others who have posted occasionally in these forums.

This is a post that is designed especially to show to cult victims :-
http://foresight-of-hindsight.blogspot.com/2008/08/mind-control-by-cults_31.html
I am sure that Spotlight Ministries will not mind if you copy and paste the article -- especially if you include their credit and references.

Also, there appears to be a lot of helpful information at this site :-
http://www.exitsupportnetwork.com/index.htm

Professional help from Christian counselors is available through this site :- http://christiantherapist.com/
(If possible, it would be wise to check if counselors have relevant qualifications. Recommendations from previous patients would also be very valuable.)

How Do People Get Out of Religious Cults?

http://www.exitsupportnetwork.com/artcls/leave.htm

WALK OUTS
-- These people simply rebel from the situation and leave.
-- Unless they shed the mind control, walk-outs may lead destructive or fear-filled lives.
-- Some adopt the attitude that since they couldn't measure up to the system's requirements, there isn't any hope for them anyway, so they might as well "live it up" while they can.
-- Some develop patterns of living that they wouldn't have chosen otherwise.

KICKED OUTS
-- These people are excommunicated [disfellowshipped] or shunned for a variety of reasons, usually related to the fact that they failed to fully integrate the four aspects of mind control--information control, thought control, emotion control and behavior control.
-- People who are kicked out of cults are commonly filled with grief and guilt. They are still very loyal to the group's beliefs and its people, even though rejected by the group.

BURN OUTS
-- These people have been so abused spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally and financially, that they are barely able to function on a normal basis.
-- Some "burn-outs" exhibit the Post-Traumatic Stress syndrome that is commonly experienced by war survivors. They are usually very confused, perhaps even physically ill, afraid and unable to trust anyone, most of all themselves.

FIND OUTS
-- These are people who are given, or stumble onto information which explains the situation enabling them to leave the mind control without fear and guilt.
This article is designed to be given to cult victims :- Mind Control by Cults
-- They usually take several years to work through the adjustments to normal living and attitudes. Education (scriptural as well as secular), cultivating new friends, establishing a new environment, and restoring their original personality are the most helpful adjustments. The more they learn, the greater the healing.

COUNSELED OUTS
-- These people are rare.
-- Few studies have been done on the needs of people who were born and raised within a mind control group.
-- Most counselors are ill-equipped to handle the complexities of exit counseling because there are so many factors involved in mind control, and each person's experience is different, even within the same group.

OK. Somebody please tell me what Ron said was supposed to happen yesterday. The re-ziplocking, yeah. But wasn't there supposed to be some destruction or smiting or horrible catastrophe or the other??

Who can keep up with his smites and catastrophies....  I mean REALLY!! His own followers couldn't remember all the details of his predictions and failed prophecies from a year ago...

I'm sure if we wanted to we could dig up old preachings and find something that was supposed to happen yesterday.   Evil

Yes, 1335 days is correct.  Yesterday was only the resealing of the 144,000.  A few more times and the zip-lock will be worn out.

The next big event is 1290 days, on Nov 14.  That will be the reopening of the 7th seal.  All of Ron's 7 thunders are supposed to be sounding loudly on that date, but only if you have ears to hear.  44 days to go.  All this resealing and reopening of seals can be confusing.

I guess that makes Ronald Weinland the author of confusion.  I'm certainly confused.

So, we're basically back at Groundhog's Day for the 1335x2.  Next stop, November 14th for the 1290x2 and the reopening of the 7th seal, or the opening of the 14th seal, or whatever.  I certainly hope the price of turkey and cranberry sauce doesn't go up from the disasters.  Hurt not the cranberry bogs and the poultry farms!  Then it should be on to December 14th for the second-row first trumpet. I wonder if the Pope is coming to New York again on December 14th?

OK.  I think I'm starting to get my bearings now.

One thing just struck me.... the Feast of Trumpets goes by and there are no trumpets being blown on it???  That in itself blows.
